I’m not sure whether the subjects were hopeless or just the images ? ? ?   😀

(You must be convinced that to show the image, fine quality of the lens is not important.)

PS :  By the way, I’m editing this blog on Toshiba Laptop with W-XP and Google Picasa —– though, when I see the same on iPad, the images looks darker and the color seems more saturated (in other words,”Picture looks more exaggerated”)  They were displayed differently on each device by device but my intention was not so dark.   Murky doesn’t necessary looks gloomy.  😀

Snap the Town (by Mag Lens)

6Dec by Mag(1)-DSC07676It was nothing to do with Xmas though, I went to a camera shopping.  Alongside, I had my Mag lens, Fun camera lens, Sony A7R with me.  (I made a fun with shop staffs while testing D850.)  On the way back, I did some snap shots of the town-scape.  (All of them were shot by Mag lens except the last one which was by Fun camera lens)  = Have a fun.   😀

Halina Lens

Hong Kong based Chinese Co. who made Halina camera, Hakin was an interesting company.   In fact, Halina itself was an utterly insignificant cheap camera still, they started to make the cameras as early as in the 1950s = started about the same time to many Japanese camera makers.  They all started to make cheap tin-toy cameras.  From there, the Japanese camera industry developed and evolved to the today’s Hi-tech industry.

In contrast, Halina stayed almost the same position since.— or, they might just stick to the cheap products to sell in the poor country.  —– I would say they were serious people though, they only managed low-tech, or they never wanted more.  (It might be an old Chinese philosophy to know the position !)   (Still, they made TLR (ish) camera, Auto-exposure camera even 8 mm Cine = surprisingly many many cameras.)   It seemed, they try to survive against digital camera (unless the PC / Printer was handy no print to give to the friends ) still, phone camera killed them off.

Halina camera(1)-001

For me, it was yet another Toy camera lens still, yet another try.

Halina camera(2)-001

In most of the case, so-called Focus free was done by the smaller F-aperture’s Depth of Field.  So, instead to have focus free, I emphasized even stronger blurred image by removing the small F-aperture (iris) (= hole in a plastic = Photo left)  Then, the Lens alone was mounted in the center of a metal panel of the camera mount (photo middle) —– Then, on the camera (Sony A7R) (Photo right)

What the photo looks like with this lens was —–

Dork(1)-E

(Those photos were from the Dorkbot gathering.)

Dork(2)-E-001

Dork(3)-DSC07559

Dork(4)-E-002

(Not the best occasion to test the lens still, the lens could handle the very tricky lighting condition rather well ! —– Other than the big halation, the images were quite normal aren’t they.)

Sky–Moon–Pinhole

N-Sky(1)-DSC_3922

This photo was a morning view from the kitchen window. (But not everyday’s view.)

N-Sky(2)-DSC_3929

I was making a thin metal panel (commonly known as a drink can — I didn’t buy = I just found it.  :-D) to a DSLR Pinhole panel.   And this was the outside view then. (30-11-2017 / 16:03)

N-Sky(3)-DSC07524

The same outside was looked like this by the Pinhole !

N-Sky(4)-DSC_3931

Then next moment, the moon appeared on the sky (may be the cloud hiding her was moved away)

N-Sky(5)-DSC_3936

What ? —– I took a picture with D810 / Zeiss 18 mm lens as a fixed shot.  (16:14:40)

N-Sky(6)-DSC_3937

A while later, the moon disappeared and the sky got dark. (If you take a photo of the dark sky, they will show you a red color = may be a reflection of the city’s illumination and the shorter wave-length of light (= like blue) was attenuated easily in the earth’s atmospheres, hence the sky looked red.)

Whatsoever, have a quiet nice evening.

Looks rather normal picture was taken by so-called Fun Lens.  Fuzzy images were taken by the Gaudy Lens, and if it was very fuzzy, they were done by the Mag Lens —– but I don’t think you ever bother to know.   😀

Autumn Color

Fall Color(1)-DSC07415

Those photos were taken by a single glass homemade lens, called Gaudy Lens on Sony A7R Camera —– you may wonder why needed to use High spec’ camera = the matter was not the spec’ but its small size.   😀

This last photo was by the Mag’ Lens, not by Gaudy Lens —– any way looks the same = doesn’t matter.  As those both lenses got a lots of halation, picture never looks sharp.    Yes that’s what I wanted. = I just wanted atmosphere, or Impression.   In that requirment, those lenses are doing good job.   😀

Amaya !

Music-A09A7495

In the 80s, before CD, the source of our music was an analog casset tape and a Walkman, if not a FM radio.  (Still, there was a possibility to resort with vinyl disc, open tape, AM radio, even live music etc)  So, I was collecting some tapes, or even making live recordings.

Other than the photography, a Raison d’etre of me in the west was to feel the music in its original acoustic environments —– in fact, I made no secret why I took a boat from Yokohama to Siberia and to the west was to listen the Organ music and the Spanish Flamenco, both of them needs to listen in the natural, original location. (We may listen and see the performance of the touring artists’ but it is not how those music existing in its culture.)   So, if you listen the Flamenco music and see the dance in a Tablao (a wine bar with flamenco performance) you must hear that the audiences (participants ?) not only clap the hand but often shout (give a call) = calls “Ole”, “Asa” or “Amaya”(sounds amaja = in spanish, Y pronounce as J — J became H ) = I asked what is the difference of those calles , Ole, Asa, Amaja —– people said all same.    Still, Ole seems to be highest praise = “Great, Go on Go on” and Asa seems “Good, carry on” but Amaja was a ? ? ?

Some days ago, when I checked Youtube viz, I found an old viz of Carmen Amaya among the mountain of flamenco.

Some of viz saying “Legendary Amaya” = It seemed She was the great dancer and a singer, as Wiki tells the impressive story. —– with a flash of inspiration, I realised that call of Amaja was, in fact the name of Carmen Amaya.   It was somewhat the same to give a call to the beauty queen “Cleopatra” = To call a dancer Amaya mean, “You are as good as legendary Amaya” or “You are a Reincarnation of Amaya” = the best praise.  The name Amaya has become to be the Honorary Title for the bast dancer. (Of course, people calls it for a compliment — Don’t be too serious.  It was not a selection of National Academy. —– In the other hand, now I became aware that there is a sensitive issue here = since Carmen Amaya was a Romani / hitana / gipsy, therefore very tricky minefield is here, such as to give a call Amaja to a non Romani dancer could be an insult = has to be careful = better just call Ole or Asa. )

(This was what I thought, but if you know the otherwise or have a different view please give a comment here.)

Bach — Bernstein — Gould — Zen

Oh my Goodness.    I bumped this old film clip, on Youtube = Leonard Bernstein and Glenn Gould talked about J.S.Bach.
Film was shot on 57 years ago, 1960 then Glenn Gould was 28.   Naturally the film showed the two’s younger looks but what surprised me most was, on that time Bernstein was already “the Educator Bernstein” and Gould was “the Only one, Gould”.

(Other nearby Youtube posts, Gould or Bernstein posts are very educative and highly recommended to watch !)
In fact, me to encounter Bach first time was in the Fellini’s film, “La Dolce Vita” —– in the film, a gossip journalist, Marcello met a church organist and the organist played Bach’s music, Toccata and Fugue in D-miner (the most famous and popular organ music — famous still it was the first encounter to my 15-years-old ear)   (incidentally, that the same actor who played the organist later appeared in the other film “Emanuel” as a sex-gulu ! )

I think, it was the early 90s, I listened a BBC annual radio 3 event, the Christmas Lecture, Bernstein talked about the structure and the music language.  It opened my eyes. —– in fact, it taught me more about our emotion than of the music. —– If the music could expect the same effect, it is the proof of that our emotional pattern is much simpler = such as how we feel from major or minor key, even B-miner is associated with the feeling of death ! — how accurate his view was the other matter, but such a view-point to analyze the relation of us to the music was a shock to me.

So that, that was the same stance, how and why I adapted my view toward the Zen = instead to see it as a holly spiritual mumbo-jumbo but the scientific / medical phenomenon of the neuro-physical function.

Amazingly looks ordinary young man, Gould was already a master of the finger of a Harpsichordist and already know what is the Bach = mean what he is going to do with him = the man aware of his own karma.  (People became aware of their own karma on their later life —– I wonder how he found it in such early life ?)

***** PS:   Related post (following links)  J.S.Bach,  Aaaaaa~~~~~!  are highly recommended post to go. (They clearly explain what I said here.)
