Yoshizen's Blog

Pok’s ZEN

Ten days ago I received an invitation to a private view of an art exhibition from a man whom I don’t know at all.

I was quite puzzled, how come ? ? ?    (since my Email address is not public)

Exhibition was a contemporary art in context of dairy practice in Zen Buddhist’s culture —- What ?

Before go down to the puzzle of Zen art, I guessed that somebody my friend who knows of my Zen blog

might have suggested him to send an Email to me.

Any how, it’s best to see a man and ask.

Non

So, I took a journey to the exhibition and met a young artist, Chong-Boon Pok.

Obviously he is a Chinese but turned out to be from Malaysia and living in here about 10 years.

And he is a kind of [native] Zen Buddhist, who doesn’t need to know what the Zen is or its

history etc,  but as he was grown up in its environment he is naturally doing it.

(even unaware of why —– it’s in his subconscious)

—– As he was saying in his Press release;

“ My studio practice operates within subjects, time and space using the everyday and engages

aspects of mindfulness, self, memories, social, cultural and symbolic form. My cultural upbringing and

life experiences are often revisited, examined and evidenced in my work.

The work embraces ideas of as-it-is-ness, nothingness, the impermanent nature of things, and the

interconnectedness of objects and people, all of which are relevant to Zen Buddhist discourses of everyday.”

non

And what he is showing are — in his words;

“ Devoting attentiveness to and contemplating the everyday is central to my art practice.

The everyday that I refer to is the trivial, ordinary and inconsequential objects and activities that

people tend to take for granted such as the cutlery we use for eating, something we are so familiar

with that we are less likely to give a second thought when we encountered them. Besides

assembling everyday objects into sculptural forms and installations, part of my work involves

using food and cooking to perform and interact with people visiting my exhibition.”

non

Like a round piece in the photo above ( can be enlarged with click on the photo) it was made out of

drink-can’s pull-ring —– thousand of them. So as the other pieces, they are made out of really

ordinary objects —– but with the thousands of repeated works.

Some may think, it might have done by dreadful swet-shop like endless work or even it might have done by

the hired worker —– wrong.   It was all done by the artist himself.

And some may think, it is a kind of play devoting to the God —– wrong again.

Except the first few line of the work where the artist needed to find the best adjustment, following work

all through up to the finishing line, it was done almost automatic = just the repeating movement of the fingers.

There was nothing else in his mind = so-called Mindfulness, though, in fact, there was nothing.

Hence Mind of No-Mind = the true reflection of the Nothingness of the existence.

—– in deed, those repeating work is the Buddhist’s practice = by which the one can reach to

the state of Mushin (Mind of No-Mind ).

non

But we shouldn’t forget, that the Practice is just the practice to get the state of the mind, Mushin.

Mushin itself is not a goal. It is just a state of the mind.   What is the goal ? —– Life, that’s all.

But the Life without unnecessary worries or useless delusions hence without pitfall.

What else anyone needs to have ?

More than handful of gold ? Or surrounded by 100 of virgins ? —— ? ? ? What to do with those virgins ?

Do you want to be a rapist or dirty old man ? —– in fact, all those dirty idea negates the goodness or virtue of

the Mushine, since it against the Rules of the Dharma.

One’s life is to make other life happier.   This is what all about the meaning of the Life.

( Running big company employing thousands of staffs and selling the products all over the world

—– in effects, supporting those who working for him, and appreciated by the people who bought the products,

in the same time, making money and able to supports his own family —– this is the Life.

(well, billions of variations there)

non

So, unmistakably,  the artist,  Pok succeeded in this task —– by his work in Mushin, made

the people smile and made their eyes open “ A, Ha ~ ~ ~”  and making people feel Happy.

He should be rewarded by the Dharma.

Non

His exhibition [ Contemplating the Everyday ] continues until 8th July, 11am~5pm

@ Central House Building / Metropolitan University —– Near Oldgate East Station , London

(it is opposite of the Whitechapel Gallery / Habib Bank on the corner / entrance is over the Bank office)

It’s worthwhile to pay a visit  🙂

TOY and ELECTRONICS

A while ago I was introduced to a guy who needs to have some helps for his electronic project.

This guy Richard has been running his shop-sign design business near the work shop of the

Open Wifi Networking people / OWN, and he was introduced me through this group.

As he wanted to expand his design to LED light sign-board, but without having enough knowledges of

electronics. ( —– good boy. I like this kind of people. Keen to study and challenge new field.)

(Any how, I myself started a hobby of electronics from scratch

without having any formal education or training)

He had started to make sign-board using a kit bought from China —– and having mountain of

problems, the power supply, heat-up, etc etc. (May be it worked in China though, this country got

much more strict Safety regulation and the customers are more fussy, and so on)

Basically, the Chinese design was rather cleverly simplified, using less components —– would work

just within the limit and under an ideal condition.

Though, the trouble of bespoke designs are, they are not always the same design, and the number

of LEDs on the board are not necessary the same number.

So, I suggested the modification and the change of the components, power supply etc etc,  in fact

quite a lots of works needed to make them perfect    🙂

non

On the beginning, he tried to pay for my help. I told him “My help is free. And even if he want to pay,

he can’t afford my formal charge”   “One day, if I need, I may need to ask your help”

“So, just glad to receive a help from others, and give a help when he saw if others needed”

non

——- Then, he found the Chinese toys using LEDs and showed me if they can be used to control the

electronic signal in the sign-board.

Modification or adaptation of electronic circuit is much easier than to make a tandem bicycle out of

two broken bicycles (which needs to have a lots of cutting and welding —– a messy business)

As a matter of fact, I’ve been doing many of those kind of adaptation.

A video clip of my rotating  LED disco costume in Youtube was made out of a Chinese toy too.

When I saw the complicated lighting pattern of 5 LEDs in the small toy, I’ve got the idea to utilize it

(then, I made more than 10 design and the prototypes —– and one end-up as a fancy disco gadget 😀 )

If I design and make the same from scratch, by using gate ICs or a micro-controller IC, it would become

quite a size and impossible to rotates, let alone to mount it on a disco costume.

Since Chinese manufacturer designed and made it as a cheap toy, expecting to sell millions, they made

all the controlling circuit and the memory in one custom IC, everything is in a thumb nail sized board

—– so that, I’ve bought 20 of them 50 pence each 🙂 —– what a bargain 😀

Most of those ICs in the toys which execute a pre-programmed

routine is having a digital memory and its execution speed is

clocked by an internal RC clock, and its frequency is

supply voltage dependent, its mean if we change it, it could

slow down the speed.

The toys, Richard found was rapidly flashing RGB LEDs disco

pendant kind.   Those electronic circuit can be modified to flash

the letters on a sign-board by adding higher current transistor,

and can have more effective speed or giving more interesting

random movement as well.

And by using much higher supply voltage, it can light up lot more number of LEDs —– the variations are

endless —– after all, they are so cheap,  try this and that —– any faliuer wouldn’t cost you much.

Try to analyse and modify the circuit is a kind of game and a fun. —– and I made user friendly, ready to

use small board for him (and his assistants) to make sign-board.

—– rest of work is for him / he is the designer.    I was just an adviser.

It was an interesting occasion to see a person rapidly learning and succeeding.

This is the Zen at work. (for me and for him)

Let the things to come and happen.—– In Buddhist’s view, it is not an accident.

It’s happened as it should be.

Be flexible in the brain / in the way of thinking, and to the occurence in the life,

and above all,  just do what required there in its best.

Hence, I was happy and he was happy too.

The day and the life in total would be quite fruits-full. ( with a lots of fun as well 🙂 )

Nostalgia

Posted in Art, Awareness, Emotion, Ethos, Fun to read :-D, Intelligence, Mind, Music, Photography, Subconsciousness by yoshizen on May 22, 2011

Yesterday I popped out with my camera with

ever loved fish-eye lens to meet a friend photographer.

non

With a sort of fixture when ever I have to go out in this kind of

occasion, the sky is blue, sun is shining (in fact, too much for

photography) —–.

Waking from a camera shop where I bought two SLR bodies for

5 pound each for spare parts, I literally came across a charming

graffiti and an artist working on it at the notorious [Authorized

Graffiti Space] railway under-path near Waterloo Station.

non

In one glance, as I felt the image is somewhat Japanese hence I thought the guy is Japanese.

But he turned out to be rare Thai-Mexican mix and a graduate of an Art School here.

So, the image on the wall is not a Japanese [Okame] face —– 😀

—– What so ever, it’s having strange nostalgia.   The trouble of this kind of very deep latent

memory is, it is hard to figure out its origin.   In fact, non of Japanese woman got a face like that

—– but why I felt it is a Japanese Okame ? ? ? —– was it an illustration of a children’s book I saw

when I was very small ?   Or ancient paintings ?

( At the dawn of Japanese culture, the paintings remain now showing those round cheeks and smooth

round face, hence the explanation of the teacher was “It must be the Korean beauty’s face then” as

those cultural influences came from China through Korea though I never seen no such faces

among the Korean women now)

non

—– or more fundamental nostalgia / common ancient memory even shared by Thai-Mexican ? ? ?

Seeing some other drawings of the artist at his website – sniffsniff.co.uk – (Please Google it. It’s

fascinating enough to click) I found, it was not necessary to be Japanese but his own style — even

his another drawing of western woman having same kind of rather smooth, somewhat innocent,

naive faces —– may be originated from his own memories of childhood —– hence having

no element of eroticism. I like the art which appeals to my subconscious —– and make me puzzle

but more importantly —– gave a kind of soothing, —– listening a far distant lullaby like feeling.

non

After all, we are not living on the sophisticated, complex idea but on the basic feelings.

We may debate or argue about idea or ideology though, unless those idea has made sense and

fused into our subconsciousness, it wouldn’t intertwined or influence our feelings.

On the conscious thinking process, we can think anything we know (even about a new information

just acquired on the spot ) though, that information may soon be forgotten.

But a deep imprinted fact ( in the long-term memory) or its feeling remains almost for ever —–

even after we all forgotten associated facts which tells where and when etc. some information

or latent memories affect our feeling and even a judgement.

(Unless the new information came with shocking impact otherwise repeated again and again, it

wouldn’t become long-term memory / a memory stacked in the subconsciousness )

Still when we rediscovered long forgotten or hidden old memories, it gave us a bit of shock.

—– this is why we need an art which joggled our memory or mind —– as the artists are

good to communicate and able to express their own subconscious.

(The deeper he can go, it will be common with more people —– same as the music)

Baby Baby

There was a BBQ in my friend’s place, and I checked the palm lines of my friends

Lukas and Lucy’s baby Lia’s. —– Hm —– hm hm !

Anyhow, a baby is —– fundamentally cute.

Why CUTE ?

A notion of beauty came from the eyes of grown-up’s. Therefore, it

needs the exact shape and the proportion etc etc.

A baby got everything out of proportion.   Big eyes big round cheeks short legs

etc etc.   Hence they are not beautiful but cute or pretty.

non

Beautiful woman is the eyes to appreciate —– though not necessary nice to talk with.  Especially too perfect

beauties often repel us.  Or at least me.  ( Anyhow I know I don’t match them.  Ha ha ha  😀  )

The charm point, which attract us is somewhere a little bit out of perfection.   Out of proportion.

So, the charming point lies between perfection and a monster. —– So that, a bit out of standard is a charm,

but  if it’s gone too far makes a monster.  How much [a bit] is depend on the individual taste.  Some likes more

and some got taste of even a monster.  In most of  case, where the people feel charming and cute, such

as big eyes etc are in fact the typical feature of the baby.

Cute disarm and open the mind of grown-ups and make them feel joy.  So, everybody loves it.

Simply because the babies are absolutely harmless (except few historical accidents 🙂 )  and the living sample of

the glory of the life  ( save the pain and the hardship of the parents found in reality  🙂 )

If anybody really encounter a creature 6 feet tall looks like a baby in the picture, definitely frighten them

though, here, she is just a small baby,  only makes you smile.

Isn’t she CUTE ?

DaVinci DELUSION

No one deny the exceptional drawing skill of Leonardo DaVinci, but how about his famous

ingenuity in the inventions, and the scientific thinking and the observation ?

Most of the people believe the reputation of him as a genius —– really ? ? ?

As a matter of fact, what people believe is mere Hear-say or Myth.

At least, anybody can see his superb drawings and the paintings. Though, how many people ever

put close eyes to his invention or anatomical drawings, which purported to be medically,

scientifically true representation of the human anatomy.

non

Utterly against the popular belief, my view of Leonardo DaVinchi is, he was just a trickster with

big mouth. Big mouth but his presentation with realistic superb drawing fooled the people.

Exactly same as a sham Doctor selling beauty portion with beautiful picture on the bottle.

But the people who doesn’t know the science or engineering was just fooled by his big mouth

—– any how they couldn’t understand the significance or implication of the drawings.

non

If you have the basic understanding of the mechanical structure, have look his famous design of

the battle tank. —– ( you can find it in the Wikipedia )

Just look how the wheels to drive the tank was connected. —— You must soon be realized, that the

tank can go nowhere, because the wheels of the tank rotates opposite directions, against each others.

Of cause, if it was actually ever built by the carpenters —– since even ordinary carpenters can see the

direction of rotation, the mistake in the design must be rectified and modified by them on the spot,

therefore the tank could have roll-out for test drive.  But even if it was built and tested, soon they realized

that a block of stone or shallow trench dug on the ground can easily demobilize the tank and it become a

sitting duck.  Oil and fire would burn the soldiers inside alive.   What a useless silly idea  😀

non

And just give a thought to that famous flying machine design —– does anybody possibly imagined,

somebody in the world has the muscle to swing the wings of that huge heavy structure ?

Was Leonardo DaVinci such ignorant ?    Still, he believed it is a feasible good idea.—– Delusion again.

Despite his big mouth and the pretense, he lack the brain to rationally figured out the possibility and

the feasibility of the mechanism. —– He literally draw the beautiful picture (or dream ? )

He was a man just deluded and intoxicated by his own fancy idea and fooled others with it.

He was only good to copy and draw what he can actually see. —– was that ?   Really ?

Non

There are hundred of the anatomical sketches made by him.

They are no doubt, superb realistic drawings —– except some

unimaginable distortions, which he intentionally put on there.

Leonardo DaVinci was a member of the Free Masons and had profound Masonic

belief, hence he had the belief of the spirit.   He believed the domain of the spirit

is in the brain, and because its spirit was carried in the semen, the child inherit the

spirit from father —– therefore it has been continued from Adam.

Its mean, the sperm has to come from the brain.   And it shouldn’t come

through the same tube sharing with urine, hence having different tube in the penis.

So that he has drawn additional extra tube running from brain to penis, in his anatomical

drawings of the genitals.

—– Obviously he was quite obsessed with this idea, the same man who

could precisely observed and drawn the exact position of the urinary

tube from kidney to bladder still managed to falsify non-existent tube

in the penis.   It’s not scientific at all.  And if he was a believer of

the God’s creation, it is a dreadful fallacy, and contempt of God.

non

There was a strange paradox in his belief. Despite his profound Masonic

belief of spiritualism, he didn’t know what the spiritualism mean, hence

he tried to make-up the materialistic representation of the spirit

—– the semen as the substance of the spirit.  ( Bad tendency of the inventor. 😀 )

( Inventor’s aim is to materialize the idea.  Philosopher accepts first and try to explain  😀  )

Lots of people were mislead by his paintings of Mona Lisa or Madonna kind of images, but it was

just an assignment with money to him, it was nothing to do with his spiritual state of the mind nor Christianity.

Considering many of his drawing of grotesque faces, and above all, a man who got insatiable apatite to

dissect the human body, even a pregnant woman with a foetus inside —– it is not only illegal but

a grotesque feast of insanity.   It was far worse than mental perversion.  He actually took a knife in his

hand to cut open a womb, in order to draw the shape of  foetus.  Under the spooky candle light ! Oh, No.

This is the reason why no spiritual institute gave him any historical significance, other than

dubious DaVinci Code story 😀

Neither no scientific, medical topics or phenomenon was ever named after him. —– scientists, medical

academics never took him anything serious.   Since, he was just a deluded pervert, yet able to get

away, just because of his powerful connection who has been fooled by his big mouth.

DaVinci was the most typical case of  PRECONCEPTION  which I wrote long time ago.

His dreadful gruesome act has been completely masked and forgotten by the smile of Mona Lisa.

And people were made to believe a myth of Genius 😀

( Those drawings are in the Queen’s Collection, Windsor )

Landscape — or Memory-scape ?

Landscape ? or Memory-scape ?

I don’t know. It’s a photograph. Sir.

Where the IMAGE came from ?

It came from a memory-card of my camera.

So, you photographed this, what was the subject ? Was that a Landscape or Abstract ?

What you mean Abstract ? Abstract of WHAT ?

That is what I’m asking.

Ask the Camera please. 😀 —– It might be De-ja-Vu. Sir.

So, your camera can take picture of your mind inside ?

What a fancy imagination you got. Sir. When we faced the situation, what I can do is

either press the button —– or not. I have only two choice.

So, you are doing Zombie photography. 😀

How nice. Very funny. This is Zen Photography   Sir.

That’s why I’m saying Zen is Dog Shit.

Dog Shit or not, can’t you see the scape somewhere where ever, not remember when but

far far away, long long time ago or in a future, we might have seen or may see one day.

You don’t need to think What is this about, but as long as the image absorbs your feeling,

and make your mouth shut, it’s all what needed.

—– But obviously this one didn’t make my mouth shut.

So I say.  Shut your mouth.  Just look it.  You are thinking too much.

You are violating my fundamental human right of Freedom of Expression.

Oh, bollocks. Preach to the camera.

What a dog shit.

———- Not much peace here. Ha ha ha 😀

MODIFIED APE ? ? ?

As I’ve written “ Artificially modified Ape “ I received pretty strong contention. ( as anticipated )

I didn’t intentionally try to create argument though, I knew there must be a lots of contention.

Not mention the Christian Creationists, but even the ordinary Evolutionists couldn’t agree.

To my eyes, the changes occurred to even the physics of the Human, which were triggered by the

active Human selection,  which changed or resulted the condition of existence is artificial.

MMM

Among the animals, such as the exuberant horn of Deer or the feather of Peacock were the result of

the breeding competition.  The more prominent, the more attraction to the females, hence the Gene

of bigger horn had become dominant.  This is a natural selection and the shift of the size of horn

would be regarded as a process of the Natural Evolution.

But, in the case of the size of Human boobs is quite questionable. When our far ancestors started

to walk biped, genitals became inconspicuous and male and female sees each other, face to face,

guessing the appearance of the others, with dark skin and hairy body, it may not very easy to appeal

“Look at me I’m a female “. So that, the female who happen to have larger boobs had taken more attention,

hence she had more opportunity to produce the offspring —– and the Gene to make larger boobs were

established. —– yet, big boobs is not actually contributing to the fertility nor good supply of the

mother’s milk, because it was made of useless fat.—– It is just for a psychological display.

In other words, it was the matter of the male imagination. Nothing to do with physical evolution.

( Selective breeding is not a natural evolution.  It is a reflection of man’s Ego and  Arrogance)

MMM

The more drastic change had happened in the Human history, when our ancestor gained and figured

out their stable life, and became more than just a hunter gatherer. —– Probably with some domestication

of the animals and the primitive agriculture or knowledges to keep particular plants as the staple food.

Hence able to alleviate a hardship cycle of plentiful and the starvation in the cold.

This stable life, away from the effect of the season, had the same effect of the domestication to

the Human animal.

—– With the (self) Domestication, Human lost the seasonality of the breeding, and the females

started to ovulate out of season.   It was a change of the physiology lead by nutrition and the psychology.

( I couldn’t find any explanation Why Human lost a chemical trigger / Pheromone or sensitive nose  😀 )

All over the world there is a peculiar artefacts of so-called Venus Figure

with exaggerated body.

They are always in the early stone age. —– and only limited on that

period, and never continued.   This fact suggests what had happened,

a woman in the colony had first ever bore the babies twice in a year,

which astonished the people, hence she became a symbol of fertility,

Mother Goddess.  Though, gradually all the women started to show the same,

worship of the Goddess became pointless, hence, the Venous Figure was

no longer produced.   ( This is totally new theory  🙂  )

(Photo above = Venus of Willendorf / Naturhistorisches Museum  / Vienna / Wikipedia )

MMM

This physiological change was a result of the change of Human Life Style, generally called Culture.

And this change of the Culture was the results of the Intellectually lead Human adaptation.

It hadn’t  occurred naturally.  In another word, it was an Artificial Change.

—– Subsequently there were many side effects, consequential changes had occurred in the Human

history.   Namely, such as the Brainization ( Imagination lead ) sexual behaviour —– hence resulted

even a development of sexual obsession. —– This is not a natural evolution at all, but a destruction.

(Without Pheromone induced sexual imperative, a sexual drive has to come from one’s MIND )

—– Big BOOB may not have any physiological value, still it would give you quite an

Imagination.  Imagination always strays away.  ( How exiting.   Ha, ha, ha   😀 )

MMM

Thanks to the Human Intelligence,  Humankind invented many new psych and the idea though,

they are too often far remote from what we started and originally designed by the Dharma.

This is the reason why we have two separate  SELF  in us.

The one is our Self-conscious (the One, thinking),  and the other is in our subconsciousness.

The more we became conscious, we alienate our true Self which we only subliminally aware of.

This is the reason why Buddha taught,

“The Self in the thinking is a Delusion “ “Look at the Dharma without thinking “

Without thinking, is what Mushin mean. (in another sect, this is also called  Detachment)

The Buddhism is to become aware, and to regain What We are.

ZEN in PHOTOGRAPHY

A PHOTO. —– is it ?

Looks like a reflection —– isn’t it ?

If it was the case,  what is the original object ? —– I don’t care. 🙂

Somewhat definable is a water-plant isn’t it ?

Is it ?

It’s a corner of this world  just round a corner, nothing there.   Sir.

Is it ?    I thought it’s the Universe.

—– ? ? ?   How do you know ?

Because it looks like a floating  Dog Shit, like a rock garden in Kyoto !

How nice !   It’s supposed to be a visualization of Claude Debussy Sir.

So, that’s why it sound Dog Shit.

Absolutely Correct. ( Don’t be serious, this is a joke  😀  )

Why SUPERMAN Fly — not Japanese ROBOT ?

You know,  the Super Hero has Super Power which is beyond of human imagination.

—– well, it is in a case of Western Hero such as Superman, even Harry Potter kind.

And did you notice,  Japanese equivalent of them are often the Super Robot. — In old days, it was like

Astro Boy (鉄晼アトム), IronMan 28 (鉄人28号 )and then Gandam etc who needs to charge-up or inject

the energy fuel —– doesn’t look like having super natural power.  No, they are not super natural Hero.

Strangely you may think, Japanese Super Hero is a variant of Ninja / Extreme Human. ! ! !

The origin of those Super Hero came from the Ethos and the Myth of each culture.

The Western God is the Almighty.  You can’t count what power he got.  It is unknowable.

And the same apply to the counter part, the Devil.    So that, they fight using super natural power.

In western tradition, to have a supernatural power is the norm to a Hero, Anti-Hero, Witch or Sorcerer.

But in the East, only the people in the Hades use supernatural power, and it is evil.

Hence, a Hero in the Eastern film, fight with his almost superhuman power and skill, yet it is still human skill.

Chinese Kong-Fu Hero, Japanese Sward Master, Ninja —– are all Hero in this category.

In a film, those Hero does incredible jump, still they never fly.

In order to spread the kids’ fantasy, a new type of Hero started to appear in the Japanese comics in 50th.

They are the Robot,  as it becoming within technological feasibility and reality.

So that, starting in my generation, the Japanese kids were growing up with Robot stories.

In tradition, Japanese Hero has to remain to be a human, regardless whether he got superhuman like power.

If not human, it’s a monster and never be a Hero.   And this principle applies to a Robot Hero too !

Japanese Robot has to be not only realistic but also Scientifically rational, even in a comic story.

If the energy run-out, even a super Robot needs to fill.  They are not a product of Myth or wild fantasy.

When those Comic Robot Hero fly, they open the exhaust of small jet engine, then blasted to the sky.

Hence they are realistic and scientifically rational, it made the kids to think its structure or mechanism.

Which lead those boys (and girls) to study science or technology —– and created today’s Robot on the end.

This is the reason why, they like to create Humanoid. —— still couldn’t forget their Hero.

If their Hero / Robot Hero was irrational and operated by the magic,  kids would just grown up

and forget a childish silly story —— nothing to do with science in their future life.

——–

It is showing remarkable contrast of  Eastern and Western psyche.

But a question here, is, have any of you ever seen flying-man, let alone any super natural act,

not mention the super natural power of The God and The Devil ? ? ?

There is no such things in the Buddhism.

Buddhism is in the Dharma which inherently follow the rationality.  Or, by observing the

manifestation of the Dharma, people found and learned, What the Rule of Rationality is.

( Rationality is not an invention of the man )

Therefore the Dharma having no magic.  Hence, Buddha himself prohibited to practice magic.

( Of cause, there is certain unknowable in the Dharma, but it is invisible any way,

and nobody can touch it.  Therefore even Buddha didn’t  answer for this question )

Proto-IMAGE

Most of the optical vision in human eyes had been well researched

and we believe ” Seeing is believing”

despite of nobody knows what the others are actually seeing it,  in absolute term.

( You may already know or you can find hundreds of false-vision, illusion trick samples in the Net.

What we believe, we are seeing is the mare reconstructed image in the brain, which may be a false. )

I used to have a friend who was a color-blind.  When he told me at an art class, while painting a land-scape,

he is painting a tree as green by the color name written on the paint tube.

He couldn’t see green or red,  neither he can describe whether those green and red looks like gray or

another color what so ever.  Since nobody taught him what it is, so, he couldn’t have a word to describe it.

—– and we, lucky to have Pan-chromatic vision couldn’t guess or imagine how the world looks to him.

Our eyes itself are rather simple optical device, there is no color filter hence the image projected to the

retina is in full color though, the sensors, nerves and the visual cortex in the brain are too complexed,

far beyond the today’s science and the technology.  So that we can’t tap-into the brain and extract

an image what color blind is actually seeing the world.

With the same reason, a topics what I’m going to write here may not able to give an objective proof

or to give a demonstration to others though, if anybody else can find the same phenomenon,  soon

or later it would be recognized as a common phenomenon.

—–

Once before, when I went back Japan, I found the mountains of duster-cloth (which we call  Zoukin)

piled up in my family house.  Each of them, the old cloth has been cut to the size and hand stitched.

They were made by my mother.  When she faced the condition of her hand became stiff and feel a pain

with her age,  she decided to fight back.  Instead to have a medication or pain-killer kind, she started to

make Zoukin by hand stitching them, using old cloths she had been accumulated over the years.

—– Among such Zoukin, I found the one I know very well.  I knew it, but not in my ordinary memory.

—– Time to time, I give a massage to my eyes,  by lightly pressing the eye-balls with my finger.

(While eyes closed, of cause  😀  )

Under light pressure, in the dark field of my vision, the same image of distinct pattern always appears.

The pattern is like a line print of four petals flower.  It appear only first moment, a second or two and

dissolved into the dark.

Astonished to see the very pattern on the cloth,  I asked my mother, what was it ?

She told me, that cloth was a Yukata ( thin, light Kimono) she used to wear when I was a new-born baby.

The pattern appearing in my eyes was the printed pattern on the Yukata which I saw when I was a baby.

The first image I saw, has been burnt into my eyes.

This is the Proto-Image of my life.

For a new-born baby animal,  to recognize and register  who is the mother, into their brain

is the most crucial matter in their survival. (If it was the case of Zebra / the black stripe pattern,

and the Penguin / the voice, and so on)

Likewise,  we human has the same instinct —– we capture the image of the first sight, assuming

the person whom the baby saw, is the mother, and the key image was literally burnt into the vision.

—–

As I wrote in an early post [ Subconscious Data Bank ], we are accumulating a loads of information

without even aware of it.  And the Data Bank in our Subconscious may contain even the Genetically

implanted information. ( Experiment of the psychologist found that even the few months old baby showed

the reaction of alert when he (she) saw the image of tiger (not a toy but real one)—–only the explanation

is, it must be a genetically implanted memory )

—— and those information is affecting our way of thinking, decision-making or preference etc.

But, how about this Proto-Image ?   Would this one image, direct the one’s life ?

May be the image of four petals flower made me to pay more attention to the flower —— yet it need to

have more research.  And the Internet must be a good forum to exchange the information.

—– So, if you were intrigued, just try to see whether you have the same kind of burnt into image

in the bottom of your eyes. ( It takes only few second to test.  🙂  )

And if you found one, please post a comment here.
