Glucose Level and the Will-Power

There are some internet information and the blog talking about the tendency of human behaviour,

in relation to the blood sugar level.

A blog talking about the influence of sugar (glucose) level to one’s will power quoting an article

in the New York Times which says depleted sugar level lead to the person indecisive. (postpone the decision)

This full 7 pages article is in deed the test of one’s will power to read through 😀

It’s talking about this research and other research and so on, and the observation connecting glucose

level to decision-making appeared in 5^th page.  ( Better jump to the page,  if you are busy)

Somewhat interesting observation though, this research having a fatal flaw.   Its observation is

based on a statistic of the decision-making of a Parole Board —– which application was passed in the daily

schedule in relation to the time of the day. (Possibility of a Parole given to criminals are much higher

soon after the lunch break, but later afternoon seemed to be very few) — this statistic came from official

document, but conclusion wasn’t based on the blood sample taken from the members of the Parole Board.

Hence speculating its tendency that it was contributed by the glucose level was nothing but a guess work

speculation. —– There could be hundreds more psychological factors.

The activity of the brain can be seen as a graphic image of PET (Positron Emission Tomography)

scanner.  PET image shows how the energy consumption (Oxidation of the glucose) is taking place.

—– If depletion of the glucose is there = no emission = no bright image = shadow.

Even a person under observation, who was taking heavy brain taxing work,  PET image never shows a shadow

= brain is keep working.

The sugar level in the blood is as crucial as the oxygen level, hence the blood circulation and the controlling

mechanism of the sugar level has been evolved in the past million years of evolution.

I don’t think the human kind who didn’t have a chocolate handy in their daily life suffered with

poor decision-making due to the glucose depletion.   (Otherwise we have been extinct long ago)

And the another article I found was a kind of statistic made by a marriage adviser (?)  Mary. J. Hungerford

of California (though, I couldn’t find the original article) which said that 3/4 of the divorced couple were

having sweet tooth and she speculates it must be caused by the higher level of the

Adrenalin which was associated with the higher level of glucose in the blood.

Higher level of Adrenalin makes the person aggressive hence argumentative —– which lead to the

break down of the relation and end up in divorce.   (Really ! ? )

—– Very funny contradicting fact is [ What about Diabetic ] it was caused by higher level of

the glucose in the blood.  Does it creates an aggressive man of will ?  Quite opposite isn’t it ?

PS :  After I’ve put this post,  I Googled [Glucose level,  Will-power] and realized this idea was not novel,

—– but rather popular idea.   Then I gave a thought  [what I was eating in the Eihei-ji temple ] —–

—– A bowl of rice porridge (of cause not with milk,  just boiled in a lots of water) and pickled vegetable for

—– break fast.  In the evening, a bowl of rice,  a dish of such as boiled vegetables, tofu etc, and miso-soupe.

—– Strangely I have no memory of lunch —– may be it wasn’t there.

—– I think, to anybody’s eyes and a mouth,  it was not a kind of  food  to energize the Man’s Will-Power   😀

—– Despite such poor food,  the Monks even ordinary visitors stay there to spend the time of nothing  !

—– There was no restriction to leave, if anyone wish.   So that, to stay there may need to have a will-power.

—– Think about the heroic story of the sheer Will-Power,  like Shackleton’s Polar Expedition etc.

—– Did he has a luxury of daily portion of chocolate to keep his will  ?   I don’t think so.  😀

—– I don’t think the will-power of what people talking about here and the explorer’s or mountain climber’s

—– will-power is the same kind.—  Neither any Zen Master’s will.

—– Buddhist has completely different psyche —– there was no will at all,  hence those

—– Masters got enlightenment  !  ( Buddhist doesn’t intentionally pursuit the goal by will

—– but to set the goal as the default = if nothing else is there, what else can we wish for ? )

—– When (to his eyes) no chocolate is there, why want to eat chocolate —> once this kind

—–of mind  became the norm,  do something by the will doesn’t need a chocolate   😀

—– If he wants to do [A],  Just Do [A] —– anyhow nothing else is in his scope.

—– To chose [A] out of 26 and do it needs to think and the will.  But if nothing else there,

—– it is only a thing he can do. —– This is the ZEN.

MORAL DECAY ! ?

Being faced with the Riot situation, PM David Cameron hastily came back from his holiday —–

and today shouted “Moral decay of the Nation”.

With some cynicism, it may not too far to say, the fundamental mind-set of the Tory is  “ This is my country

and we are in charge with it” —– and the Labour’s is  “We are the victim of THEIR suppression. Hence we are

entitled to rob THEM”   😀

Therefore,  when Tory saw the disorder,  they feel their treasured possessions and the peaceful life were

threatened = Crisis of the Nation !  ( Labour says ” It’s their expression.  Blame only yourself.  Not us ”  😀  )

( In fact, with their mind-set,  Labour devoided the Britannia and its collective Ethos with a pretext of

Political correctness such as Multi-culturism, superficial ethnic equality, human right etc —- only resulted

with fragmentation of the society, and made this country easiest place for a [non-person] to live.)

There has been thousands of talking analysing the situation —– poverty, under-class, unemployment,

frustration of young people, lack of role-model = lack of father figure etc etc —– !

I noticed yet everybody is missing the point. —– may be as they are living in THIS society,

they don’t have eyes to see it from the distance / objectively.   (and a consideration and a precaution not to

go against the voters psyche,  they can’t speak out the truth.  And, all the words of politicians are

preloaded, to make life of opposition party hard —– not necessary good or bad to the Nations = politics)

( That’s why politician often says completely opposite when they are in the power or not)

So, what was the POINT  I found ?

The root of evil is the virtualization of the society.

—– I’m not just talking about the Computer Game — it is only an iconic symbol of phenomena.

You may say I’m too anachronistic though, think, the situation is only around single century or so.

Only less than hundred years ago many people were the farmers and did know, the food is not coming

from Tesco.   Not only the industrial system,  whole socio-economic system is now beyond the anybody’s

imagination.   No body understand how the financial system is working.

And to the many rioters who is receiving the benefit —– the money is just coming.  There is no

reality such as “HARD EARNED MONEY” —– they don’t know who is working hard  paying tax.

And almost all of us don’t know how a shiny gadget was made or who is making it.

Thanks to the Information revolution, you may find a company website and a photo of the factory

producing iPad in China though,  how anyone can have real feeling, toil of work there, from an

image of Computer screen. —- We can see zillions of information but no reality.

—– without any reality, nobody care, how the Shiny Gadget was happened to be there —– rioter would

easily think “WHY NOT in my hand”—– anyhow shop will claim the insurance = no damage.

As the socio-economic system became beyond the comprehension, in the same time law and order

the judicial system is in hay-wire.   Somebody can get huge pay-out from the compensation claim which claim

is not in line with social sentiment or common-sense, especially when it is related to a racial issue,

human right issue —– the feeling of  ” somebody else is cunningly exploiting the system = Why not me ?

I can dodge the system as well.   Even MPs are defrauding public money, and the Banks, Multinationals got

enough money for exuberant payout = pinching small amount wouldn’t harm them = any how their money is in

the tax-heaven.   They are not in our world.  And I AM not with them ”  ====> How they can feel

that they belong to the same society, same community and shar the same pain, and Moral ?

The ETHOS and MORALITY is not came from a preaching or written knowledge.

But its comes from practice. A process of Doing. Doing through own practice and seeing others’ doing.

That’s why thousands words of nice talking of politician evaporated when their fraud was exposed.

( Why more Labour Politician was caught ?  Because of their fundamental psyche to see themselves fighting

the establishment —” it was an enemy’s money = why not appropriate for myself  in this good opportunity” )

If those supposed to be a role model is corrupt, how they can expect other’s morality.

In old days, the life had to learn and the money had to earn —– with actual hard doing of work.

In the process, everybody learn the relation and effect of working with others and the outer community

= lesson of the cause and the effect.   And what would boomerang.   What is good or Bad.

Everything were directly connected —– there was no virtual world other than the dream.

And this is the reason why Buddhism employ the practice in their teachings.

Because, the practice and its nerve signals is connected to the one’s subconsciousness, hence it will

be burnt into the bottom of the mind.   It is invisible but bound the man’s life = Ethos.

But the abstract notion and the words in the higher legion of brain does fade away before long.

In south London, just next area of affluent Dulwich Village, there is [notorious] Peckham.

—– anyhow, I’m going there to find some kind of cheap fancy products, as there are 4 of the pounds

shops competing.  With short hop down there, suddenly my journey was halted by a Police cordon.

What ?   A, Ha ~~~~  so this is the aftermath of the Riot !

I don’t have a taste of excitement to be an onlooker of violence or fire what so ever.

( In fact, in the 70^th, I’ve seen the battle between Up-rise student and the Riot police or the battle between

the student sects, and took picture of it, so, I know how bloody and agly it is)

So, here, I settle with a rather [peaceful] afternoon landscape.

A shop right on the photo was said to have ransacked and a lingerie shop in the centre of photo was burnt down.

—– ?   Why lingerie shop ?   (May be a connection of gang group or lack of it ?  Who knows )

In this country, the culprits and his (her) right has been perfectly protected, if not by the law, by the

so-called civil right organization who can invent any pretext to justify the acts —– in other words,

completely shielded from the consequences.  Which effectively make the culprit untouchable

and the authority and the police became transparent or make them mere chaser in a Game.

Even if it was convicted, few weeks community works ?

Anyhow, rioter wouldn’t know the full brunt of the victim’s pain.    If the person,  culprit

wouldn’t feel the consequence,  how the person knows the  meaning of Karma.

Situation has been made even worse by the false environment of the Computer Game kind.

Not because of its violent contents, but

by the Player’s subconscious has been conditioned to live in the Virtual world.

Or,  they got used to live in an imaginary = Virtual world.

Once the person lost the firm connection to the community or real society,  this real world became

no different to the space in the Game.   Find the target, avoid the enemies. [ACTION  REQUIRED]

RIOT GAME in the real set-up must be much more exciting than in a small screen.

—– Trouble is,  once they tasted the excitement,  this Game may become even more popular.

Urban Warfare in the London town may become most played young kid’s game soon.

One of the SMS in the Black Berry Massage said to be ” Pure havoc.  Free staff ” — how exiting !  (for them)

Unless the person was connected and feel the same pain,  to see somebody else’s havoc must be exciting.

This is a trouble of a disintegrated / fragmented society which no longer hold the same Ethos.

Very funny irony is,  as the Riot spread,  even Rioter and their close friends became to the victims,

then working together to clean up the aftermath,  sharing the pain —– even Rioters are discovering the

sense of the community which is similar to the situation, under the German Bomb, it’s created

close tie of the people.  ( This tie is not virtual)

My only hope is,  the Police doesn’t become THE ENEMY of the People,  nor different ethnic groups armed

themselves as the Vigilante Force.  ( —– England is in a tricky situation)

It’s just a simple experiment.   Try, say Aaaaaaa~~~~~ !

Starting low voice. Aaaaaaa~~~~~~ !

And somewhere in the middle. Aaaaaaa~~~~~~ !

It’s a same Aaaa  though, in its low tone it’s sound like you are shouting fed-up or expressing disgust.

In the middle, it is somewhat responding to others or communicating that you agree or you got it.

But when it sound in very high tone, it became your cry, not necessary to others, but

to yourself.

When it sound very low-frequency you must be noticed, your bottom of lung, stomach resonates.

And in high tone, it resonates to your base of the skull where your Limbic system of the

brain is situated, and the Hypo-campus, Old cortex immediately above.

Whether, because when we cry we cry in hi-pitch tone (tension in the body squeeze even the throat and

the voice box, then the voice become hi-tone —-> then we were conditioned to the situation,

or more inherent program in the primitive brain system ? (genetically programmed) —-> we cry hi-tone,

—– we may not know which came first.

Still, when those primitive part of the brain resonates, we feel the chill in our spine too. —-> we feel Awe.

When we saw a danger, we feel Fear. Feel the same but not know why or which is the cause, we feel Awe.

Hence the sound which resonates the old part of brain / limbic system, Hypo-campus

where the emotion were created, —– yet don’t know where or why it’s coming, we feel Awe.

And this induced Awe is the basis of our spirituality.

With highly trained ( highly conditioned with many on-the-spot experiences / raw experience exposes

one’s perception, hence directly connected to the emotion.

Study deals with intelligence but Conditioning involves the emotion / emotion mean, it’s induces

physiological chemical effect / hormone, brain transmitter etc ) highly studied brain can associate

intellectual information to the experience which carry emotion —-> hence pure intellectual notion can

also be associated with Awe / Spirituality.

It’s a bad tendency, when people talk about spirituality, they pretend to be higher than others and noble

though, everybody having the spirituality —– the resonance to receive unknown message.

To interpret it to a known category or what so ever kind is related to what the person already know.

So, this is the most unlikely sample of the spiritual sound 😀

I’ve listened a live performance of this, once at the Saint Martin in the Field church and at many

churches in Germany, still this one is  [impressive enough for me to shed a tear] .

Unlike acoustic sound, synthesized sound having exactly the same frequency in each tone, often even

the same wave form, hence it creates unnatural resonance, even worse, resonating with

the speaker-system in a lap-top —– some time it’s irritating to the ears. ( Don’t ask too much)

A German guy commented to this “as a German, we never attempt to do, though I like this”

it’s showed how great the original music of the Bach.

( Its abstractic sound structure can withstand any instrument or the style of play.)

( In comparison, a sound like in the Beethoven’s Pastoral, birds songs has to be played by a Piccolo

—— Romantic School Music are sound effect in a Cartoon comics, hence  likely sound is the matter.)

—– while walking on the street, once I was stricken by a distant sound of this music.

Despite  there was a lot of street noise or rather distorted faint sound ——  quality or settings were not

the matter at all —— what there beyond the sound, was enough for me to feel a chill on my back.

The firm faith,  Awe to unknown is what Spirituality mean.

Sunni and Shiite Moslem seemed to be quite different, and from moderate to ultra-orthodox, the

Illusion of PERMANENCE

A decade or two ago, when we saw the dawn of digital photography, we were told

and believed that the digitized photo will be safe and permanent.

Unlike silver based photo image which is vulnerable to the chemical deterioration

etc. digitized information is the most reliable, solid archive of the recording.

—– Really  ? ? ?

After nearly three decade, the people who bought early CD music, started to notice

that their disc has been deteriorated and no longer playable due to the

ageing of the plastic material.

CD player just show you a sign [ No Disc ] or music became corrupt and repeat the

same passage again and again. —– The average life of CD is 20 years.

Considering the 100-year-old Wax-cylinder Gramophone Record still able to give the signals out,

I wonder what an advancement of technology was.

And I noticed, some photos saved in a USB flash memory has become [ Invalid ] —– ? ? ?

Data was just evaporated.  Since I have no idea what  image existed there.   I just give up.  Nothing I can do.

—– The data in the flash memory last 5 years.

HDD / Hard disc is notoriously fragile animal.  One drop would nullify hundreds of Giga byte of data instantly.

( Mechanical and electrical life span of HDD is about 5 years.    Therefore, you may need to copy the data

again to new HDD, before trouble occur )

It is absolutely true. Digitized image never changes and as it is the simplest form of the

information which consists only 1 and 0, it would be most reliable form.   Yes, Information is,

but not a media which recording or storing them.   Without a media, the data can not exists.

And the danger of electrical glitch which corrupt the data or OS could be always there.

The more you open the file, the more chance to have it.   The larger the HDD, having the more danger.

(Just imagine, a  2.5″  HDD disc on the photo having less than 5 square inch surface. —– Assuming, on there

30 Giga x 8 magnetized (and not magnetized) dot are aligned —– you know how small they are.

Picking up the data, whether each point was magnetized or not, from the disc which is rotating  5400 round

a minute —– it is an incredibly tricky business, even when everything worked perfect = soon or later,

something not perfect come to affect the over all function = you no longer able to read the data.  That’s it. )

A collection of Photos and Video images I had been accumulated in my old laptop which I have copied into

a USB flash memory to read in my new laptop was just disappeared all together.    4 Gb size of data has just gone.

The screen shows ” File is empty / 0 bite ” —– great !

( Later, I recovered the lost file in the  4Gb USB memory using [ Mini Tool Power Data Recovery, Free Edition

program ]  which I downloaded free —– saved about 15,000 files out of 20,000 though, all jumbled-up, without

caption or file name = you know,  How the situation is nightmarelish —– 😦   and   😀  )

In this situation and its hard reality, the internet data storage service was born —- though, like my experience,

one day its might just disappear.   Service might be withdrawn, even by human error,  or the file even the

site management itself could be hacked in, and the data could be lost.  The more important the data is, it would

be the more profitable for the hacker to steal it.  The Cloud computing may seem very convenient and

very very powerful though,  of cause,  such concentration of the data can be seen just as a huge

treasure trove,  and inevitably attract the organized cyber criminal.   Cynical irony is, even if the

data has been extremely highly encrypted, billion combination of code can easily  be deciphered

using even more computing power of the Cloud. —– Nothing is safe and permanent.

So that the wise mind-set is, —– accept its nature, it might be there, might not be there,

and live with which is remained to be there.

If the photo is there, use it.  If not there, it’s not there.   Never cling the idea  [It should be there ].

(Better keep the crucial data locked up as a print-out copy —– then how about a fire ?  😀 )

DETACHMENT and Rule of only ONCE

This Blog started two years ago just by accident. Because of it started, it started.

Not with any specific reason or purpose. And as its number of the readers grow, in my honest

feeling, I felt a kind of pressure to continue.

In my mind, say in that blank space, there seems to be a designated receptacle for Blog theme.

Therefore, the topics good for this Blog has been saved and it has been actually wrote down to post here.

But, since the day this Blog disappeared from the Syber-space once, on that

moment I thought “It is the sign for me to move this Blog to independent site”, though,

the receptacle for the post or something to write about, has disappeared too.

Zen mind is , fundamentally detached from any purpose or aim, it is only there as a product

of needs of the moment and the situation.

When the moment has gone and the situation is no longer there, there can’t be any product.

This is the same reason of me to have [Rule of only ONCE] —– if any short coming has

taken place in a situation, it is the end.

The file dilated. Hence no file to refer, nothing to think or cling.

Any how from the beginning, there was no reason the existence of the file in the first place

—– it was only a product of the moment.

Clinging the same idea or thinking which no longer exists or has a reason to be there, is a delusion.

DIVINE Intervention

Yesterday (20 April ’11) this Blog became off the Net by which WordPress said that I’ve violated

their term —– ? ? ?

With my inquiry they explained, my blog is having many Spam comments on it and unless I remove them

the service wouldn’t be resumed. —– ? ? ?

WordPress got their own Spam filter Akismet which is boasting so much thousand of Spams has been

filtered out, yet still they showed some more spam in my Dashboard.

My understanding was, those short comments might be genuine, hence WP asking me to distinguish.

Some Spammer is a kind of amateur while web surfing (since it’s his hobby and anyhow spending so

much time on front of a screen) might got the idea to supplement his income while leaving his URL as a

visitor’s name and anybody click his name it might linked to such as poker site.

He might get some commission by the number of visitors there. Still, unless a reader click his name

it wouldn’t link to the dubious site.  It is harmless.

Even a spammer has his right to seek the truth in Zen Buddhism. Why not.

Many famous Buddhists monk used to be a bloody warrior or notorious womaniser before.

And because of its past, they came to Buddhism to seek a peace. —–The one born innocent and having

smooth event-less (rather boring) life —– it’s peaceful enough. He doesn’t need the Buddhism.

But the one who is having rather bumpy ride in his life, is looking for a different way of the life and for a

start, came to a Zen Blog like here. He may not an eloquent talker (if so, he have had different job already)

hence just left a short comment of “It’s nice” kind. —– I still obliged to say Thank you.

He was a visitor, which makes no difference to an eloquent Zen Talker.

Strangely you might think, I knew this (suddenly all the two years writing disappears) is going to

happen soon. A week ago, I’ve asked a friend, James Stevens of SPC.org who is running such as

OWN, a community WiFi networking movement, to archive all of my Blog in their huge HDD.

( I’m providing electrical, mechanical adaptation, modification to help them, which I’m good at 🙂 )

And all of my recent posts were first written as Open Office Documents and automatically saved.

Therefore, I’m ready to move to another domain fully intact.

—– And as it really happened, it must be the Divine intervention, me to move to independent

site, while re-organizing the sorting, indexing system.

(Though, I have no idea how big the task would be :-D)

It seems, as this Blog started with sheer coincidence, yet another coincidence like this must be the

another direction given by the Dharma. I myself is in fact puzzling why like this happen —– could

just be a sheer coincidence though, don’t ask too much. —– As it happened it happened.

Just follow and live.   So that, I have no complaint. And I know, a good reader like you are seeing

the same phenomena in your life as well. This is what the Life to be a Buddhist. Isn’t it ? 

What the best to be a Buddhist is, we don’t need to panic what ever happened, since it is in the

hand of Dharma.  We just go with it.   This is the confidence to be with Dharma.

SINSAI . INFO — A Website to Help Others

Only four hours after the Japanese Disaster, an information website called SINSAI.INFO started.

The site is giving the extracted information of what people tweeted or the report to tell what is the

situation there or needs of help in the Geological, Graphical framework.

On the beginning it was started by a small group of the IT engineers lead by Haruyuki Seki, though soon

many more volunteers joined through internet while communicating each other by the Skype Chat and

became a formidable volunteer work force.

And the persons who did similar work for Christ Church Earthquake Relief project, using

[Ushahidi Feed] open-source program which organizing and displays the information on the map

has joined, and the top expert of the web design, top expert to organize the information as the geomedia and

top expert for interfacing to other system by designing applications hence able to provide the information

through mobile-phone or to use with Android etc has all joined together.

It became a working group, almost a dream team, no commercial project can ever dreamt of, or

no commercial project can afford to employ them.

What was the key, How and Why, the activity like this started ?

Everybody wanted to do something to help, the sense of duty told them “Have to do something”

It was a spontaneous fundamental urge of the human psyche to help others, unconscious sense of duty,

when someone faced the situation which needs the help.

The situation  itself has driven the people —– not one’s intention or will, neither ideology.

This was a situation where the Dharma worked. And the people who is connected to the Dharma

spontaneously reacted. —– Since it was the Dharma, it was not an individual mind or intention.

This is the Selflessness of the Dharma.   And as the people having and following the Dharma,

every person worked selfless —– or it must be said, in their default state as a part of the Dharma.

( I doubt, if it was a commercial project, they would not have worked together in such selfless

manner.   In a commercial project, there are certain work convention exist, which limits what

the one should do —– what you ought to do must be compatible to what you were paid, and

within a reasonable working schedule —– it became a subject of relative assessment.

It mean, The Person is seeing the Work in distance / as an object = It is not in ICHIJO ( Oneness )

In contrast, free voluntary work has no limit —– free mean, no price =  priceless mean it can be

infinitum hence the quality has to be absolute and there wouldn’t be any limit of working time.

This is the condition of WHAT the MUSHIN meant and WHAT the MINDFULLNESS appeared.

The crucial point here is, they did this spontaneously / nobody asked them BUT they did

almost automatically —– How and Why ? —– Dharma inside of them, has DRIVEN them )

On top of it, the program system they have based on, Ushahidi ( Meaning “Testimony” in Swahili ) is

an open-source program. There is no monopoly or copyright control. Open-source is selfless.

And this program was best suited to organize the information in geological order.

The drive to start a voluntary work to set-up and run SINSAI. INFO Website was purely came from

its situation.   Dynamics was there in the Dharma and the Dharma has no self.

The situation, a phenomena of the Earth, cracked open.

As the drifting earth’s Tectonics plate collide and the stress increased, it had to be adjusted = then

the plates has moved causing big earthquake and its movement caused the huge movement of the

sea water as well, created huge Tsunami.

The movement of the plates followed the Dharma, in its Earth level action to regain the balance.

It was simply unfortunate to the human-being happened to be there.

Then, seeing the situation, the Dharma in Human level responded, since some of the people

were born to be good in their IT skill, for them to react in the aspect and the possibility in IT field was

their second nature.  They found the way to help the victims in their natural capabilities.

So that, their solution was the Information website [ SINSAI . INFO Ushahidi Feed ].

Since its starting point was the fundamental compassion, therefore Ego, Greed etc has no place

and the task and the requirement is Just Do the Best.

There was no place to accommodate useless thought.

In fact, they had barely enough time to set-up and made it functioning.

They frantically worked some time all through the night.

Yet still, their action has been following the Selfless Dharma, it was the right action, destined to succeed.

( Otherwise why the Dharma made them to start in the first place . And of cause,

the Dharma is the Universal force, it covers the Buddhists, and non Buddhists all alike).

This is really the Dharma at work.

CLEANING

Currently in Japanese Twit-Sphere, a heated debate for the Cleaning their class-room is going on.

It started by a secondary school boy who is saying ” Its no use to clean the class-room by themselves.

It is not efficient enough.   Why not use the professional cleaning company ? ”

Against this, many people are saying  ” Its only a cheeky excuse, he just want to have a lazy life ” etc.

And others are saying, school is not just for studying knowledges but also for leaning the attitude for

the life, morality.   Some are saying even in religious context.

It is the same tendency, even in the western society, once it was spoken  in a religious context, the others

reacts at once,  in almost in allergic vigor —— saying feel uneasy, or even dubious.

—— It was in an unfortunate history, when a religion was spread, they always take over the morality

and the wisdom as a part of their own teachings, such as ” Thou shalt not kill, is their God’s commandment ”

—– But long before religion was invented, it was an established commonsense in the human society.

And, when a religion became out of fashion, because of even a fundamental  morality was mistaken

as a part of such religion, it became a target of rebellion.

As a matter of fact, the tradition of cleaning their school room was originated from the Buddhist’s temple.

Since the school has started as the monks teaching the reading, writing to the local kids, the tradition

( in fact, it was a part of Buddhism practice ) to clean the room by the kids is an inseparable part of

the school’s teaching.  And by doing so, the kids learn and grown into a person of their own life.

Life is a violent imposition of the tasks to all the living things.

Nobody ever asked and born as it is.  Everybody came to this world,  without any expectation or

preparation at all.——- Somebody may born into a harsh desert country as an ugly boy or a pretty girl

in wealthy western society etc, as in a variation of fifteen billion. ——- Without question, without

complaint, the one has to live or start to live their own life.—– It is the harshest imposition.

So, the kids learn this reality, starting with cleaning the room, without question as everybody is equal.

( To ask somebody else to clean the toilet, always create the seed of discrimination in any society )

By doing so, the kids learn to be humble and to be selfless, and learn to act in equality.

In the same time, to find the best way to clean and master the skill —– it’s a training of the

trouble shooting, practice creativity.  On the end, even a kids can achieve to do the work in

Mushin (Mind of No-mind )

To have a clean class room for comfortable study environment —— is only one of the by-product.

——- Though, this kind of opinion seems not welcomed in today’s Japan —— to have a lecture from

somebody else is an invasion and interference to the individual’s human right. ! ! !
