Dragon Image ( for The Friends having Chinese NEW YEAR )
Yet again, the images of my Dino the Wire Dragon —– for a Chinese New Year !
In order to have a New Year ( 23rd of January 2012 ) Celebration , Chinese people goes back to
their home town, in the scale of many hundreds millions. = said to be the largest ever human
movement in the history. A wave after wave of the people coming to the station —– it is far
beyond of my imagination. Any how, 1/3 ~ 1/4 of human population is the Chinese, when ever
it’s happened it must be colossal —– still, m m m ? ? ? How can they manage ?
What so ever all the people there, include my friends, I hope they have safe journey
and above all, have a Happy New Year.
What so ever electrolized and materialized the environment, still the last Bastian of human life and
its happiness lies in their family and eating the meal together. It’s the same in million of years.

Noise in the Mad Friday
————————————————— [Night view from the Regent Studio]
The Friday, a week before the Christmas was dubbed as the Mad Friday, as so many Xmas
parties were held in this timing. (It became apparent, that it was true, on the street scene on the way back
from the party, I saw too many drunken people hardly able to walk :-D)
And I was invited for one of them, which happened to be happened in one of a mad-house in
the north London, at Regent Studio complex next to the old Regent canal.
As huge building having so many artists, even just one floor having three parties in the same time.
And the one I went was called [nnnnn] (!) = Noise Performing Party 😀
The key person who gave me this information was, yet again the Don of the electronic everything,
James the Tallbasterd — http://tallbasterd.wordpress.com/ — who is also organizing OWN (open wifi network)
and involved many video, music, art events —– so that I bumped many familiar faces as well.
——————————– [nnnnn] event at Ryan Jordan’s Studio / at Regent Studio, Haggerston, London]
What, I’ve planned something special for this party was to test a latest new toy came to my hand a week
ago = Canon Zoom Fish-eye lens 8mm-15mm 🙂
So far I’ve been pretty happy with my 40 years old Nikon 16mm Fish-eye lens = all of my Fish-eye photos in this
blog has been taken by this lens on Canon 5D MkII with the first ever mount adopter in the world, which I’ve
made 25 years ago, in order to use Nikon lenses on Canon EOS 620.
My general view to the lenses, Nikon had a edge over Canon about the Wide-angle lenses, though this
Canon’s Fish-eye Zoom impressed me with its even quality of the image, corner to corner even with the aperture
fully opened (though, I found quite big color aberration, and the lens is not F4, but about F4.8 = the exposure
showed half stop under —– still, it wouldn’t be so much trouble = just give an exposure compensation)
(On the photo below, blue edge of the circle was caused by the Color aberration and it is persistent in any F-stop)
—————————————————– [James Stevens and Adnan Hadzi]
The party started with German base beat ! with my big appreciation. And next good things was that the floor
was a painted concrete = just right grip to the shoes (fluffy carpet imped the quick foot movement)
———————————————————[James and Adnan]
Then, James and Adnan started their creation in their noise oscillator and the synchronized video images.
James’ noise generator has two adjustments, on top of the photo sensitive element which give a Thermin like
frequency control. —– still, the noise is nothing but noisy —– sorry to say. Ha ha ha 😀
Noise approach to the sound hasn’t reached to the level, fit to the human consumption yet. 😀
[Rob Canning and Antonio Glanopolos] – [Jonathan Kemp] ———————-[Tim Goldie and his mate]
The second performers, — was using his electric guitar as a noise source with heavily tinkered synthesized
noise jammed with another computer generated noises.
The third performer’s sound was even more destructive computer generated bong bong noise.
( I don’t think, louder sound doesn’t mean impressive 😀 )
————————————————-[ Tim Goldie]
Then the forth group was resorting much of their sound source and lighting control in analog way = by using
snare drum as a noise generator and other (veiled lady) manually switch on and off the fluorescent lights.
This one was more of the theatrical performance than a noise player —– still as destructive as others.
Very peculiar scene was, the most of the people came to this event knowingly what the Noise
performance is, —– still, fed-up its noisiness and came-out the door to have a chat outside 😀
Well, it might be an excuse to have a party and drink. —– Ha ha ha 😀
( In fact, there was one more performer played though, it was too much to stay inside = hence no photos )
—– Our ancestor spend hundreds of years to sort-out what the sound should be, out of the noises, and refined
the music instrument they invented, and created a way of tuning and the tonal scale, rhythm and the harmony.
Constant rhythm and its BPM, and how we feel with it, is related to our heart beat, and the tone whether it
is miner or major is directly affecting our emotion —– anything out of this rules = random noise is a noise.
—– ? ? ?
Of cause, anybody has a right to question “ If not” —– though, It’s a same old question.
[]
Funny you may find in the aspect of Zen. Zen chase the better and the best of what ever the subject.
And deal with the subject alone as if no other subject exist in the life (at the moment) = (it called mindfulness).
A Tea master may spent 10 years to achieve fine smooth bubble in his Matcha (powdered tea) = achieve the
best is (strangely) human tendency (or obsession 😀 ). —– No question of what it is for.
It is the closed sphere or circuit. So, to push the possibility of Noise to the limit is exactly in the same context.
BUT, tea bubble wouldn’t affect anybody out of its sphere though, Noise travel in the air = reaching other’s ears.
It’s a trouble. Ha ha ha 😀
Even if it stand highly philosophical, noble notion = sound only reaches to one of the most primitive sensor of
our organ / ears = its first perception is dangerous or not, good or bad = very basic feelings = far from noble.
Still, the noise itself wouldn’t kill you, if not bad to the ears. ( Trouble is, you only realize it in your later life 😦 )
Nevertheless, seeing familiar faces and chat “ How you happen to know this ?” —– and find
the overlapping networks = in fact, how close we each others are = or how small the world is !
Loud noise would also teach you, how nice to have quiet peace is. —– Sigh ! —– Ha ha ha 😀

WRONG ? — or Just don’t LIKE it ?
While fallen leaves are disappearing from the street and the trees are getting naked,
I encountered the Cherry blossoms in a small green space.
Since this unusually warm autumn, many reports saying the flowers are opening
as they mistook it as this is already a spring.
In a normal condition, when the flowers open, many honey bee etc. are there
to pollinate the flowers, hence the fruits and the seeds would be developed.
But this is a dark, cold November. Even a single creeping insect is not in sight.
It’s mean all the energy and the effort to produce the flowers would be wasted.
—– presuming, the flowers are there only for the reproduction of the species.
Is it true ? In fact, many garden variety of the Cherry tree having their flower in the winter time.
In Japan, they are called Kan-zakura (Winter cherry) and quite few famous tourist spot to see the blossoms
even in February. As they don’t have cherry fruits, they are propagated by grafting. It’s mean, they
couldn’t exist without having human intervention = not natural = is it wrong ? —– I’m not sure.
[]
Value system is a human invention. To appreciate cherry blossom in the winter is one view and judging
it unnatural is the another. —— Once we go into this area, it would open a can of worm = as we human created
so many [not necessary natural practice] —— such as sexuality, even a religious practice etc.
( Just think about the stance of the Afghan Tariban and the women’s right there)
Then give a thought or two —— [Normal] or not, is a matter of statistic = though, larger number doesn’t
mean they are right. [Right] or wrong —– WHO said so and in WHAT context. [Rational] or not, still having
uncertainty = even the science doesn’t know whole truth yet.
—– so, we settle most primitive and cheapest mean [Like or Not] = emotion and instinct based judgement.
This judgement is the most reliable judgement to the person though, in the same time it is
notoriously easily biased, and often confused with wishful thinking.
That is why, the Buddhists are saying [see it without the Self] = [eyes of Mushin] = absolutely
detached objective view though, if only you can do this.
(Trouble is HOW do others know and convinced, that the person did it in Mushin )
If you are a Buddhist, try this and think ” Was it any different from Just Like it ? ” )
I myself is doing this, because it is easiest and quickest. (I’m lazy to think too much,
hence giving no second thought though, others often complain 😀 )

Dead Leaves ?
By seeing this, what you perceive about it ?
Is this a representation of the Fall and the indication of the end of era or even a shadow of death ?
Or you think, this is their loudest final fanfare, show-off the completion of their duty = their
most glorious moment, hence it got brighter golden color ?
If you are a type of the person to feel the former, you may need to chin-up —– or are you indulging a
self-consoling emotional memories or rather sentimental [soul-searching] !
If you are the type to see it like the later, you are a person most likely to reach to the Nirvana.
[]
In the medieval time, Japanese are pretty sombre Buddhists.
Like the plague ravaged European medieval time, japan was in the constant battle between warlords.
People thought this is the end of the world, hence Pureland Buddhism with their longing to reborn in
the Heaven became very popular.
As peaceful life was out of question, people’s mind was focused to how to die.
So that they appreciated even a cherry blossom in its moment of the end of flower, when their
flower petals are fallen like a snow is the best. (It got a dedicated word Hana-fubuki / 花吹雪)
(Hence, cherry blossoms are connoted as the symbol of the Samurai and the Kamikaze fighters, because of
their beauty in its moment of the death — I mean their mind, not a bloody scene. 😀 )
—– since then, in Japan, Buddhism was assigned to deal with the death. —– With this misconception,
Buddhism became a formality to take care of the funeral, and not a guiding light to live positive life.
Yet still at least, it made them the most docile, decent people in the world. 😀
(But, with their suppressed psych, some time it erupt to utterly crazy creation of Manga or Cos-play kind
of culture — and it became another tradition called Kabuki / 傾き then 歌舞伎)
[]
In reality, the tree has no such mind = when the sun light dropped below the productive level and the air
temperature become too low, the green color = Chlorophyle became redundant = then another chemical such
as Carotene which happen to have red or orange color which has been masked by the green color become
visible = hence the leaf looks changed its color, and then they fall.
It is nothing to do with the life or death to them as they got the buds of yet another leaves
prepared for the next spring = it is just their cycle of the life.
[]
—– still, we give plenty thought when we see the Autumn leaves in its red color.
Lots of thoughts, memories, regrets etc etc —– all just in the mind.
To the clear eyes, they are just the Fallen Leaves. (Zen often spoil the fun. Sorry guys. :-D)

ZEN in Car Accident
A person who read previous post made me a question, saying
“How detached, emotionless mind can be compassionate in the same time ?”
“As I said, you can not understand it because you are thinking while you are sitting”
[]
—– away from the situation, not on the MOMENT, and thinking = brain is in the pure
thinking mode = all the data and the notion is just borrowed data from the memory bank.
Therefore, everything is individual abstract data = having no reality or its real connection =
in other words, they don’t have its entirety. This is the limit of its ability of the THINKING.
[]
We human invented the tool, language for the convenience of the expression, communication
and for thinking process. And each word is the representation of each categorized notion.
A word RED represents million of reddish color hue in one notion.
To explain Orange (color), we may say “It’s the color between Red and Yellow” eventhough, there are
million of different Orange. (Still pretty simple and convenient isn’t it 🙂 )
But when it is more complicated and vague notions such as Detachment or Compassion, they are just
conveniently made-up notions and the words. What is Detached, how far is Detached —– ? ? ?
Actually they are not more than a kind of metaphor to describe a kind of state of the mind.
That’s why, it is impossible to describe precisely a state of the mind in words.
[]
A man who had run into 34 cars pile-up on the M5 accident, described the situation
“When I saw the situation, it was an autopilot. I jumped out to help the other people.
A woman in a crushed car asked “My baby, my baby, take my baby” I took the baby out”
In the pile-up, other cars, petrol tanker are on fire, he himself could be in danger too .
Even another car may further crushed into his car —– yet,
regardless of such consideration (consideration itself may not there in that moment) he just
acted what he needed to do. —– (did he needed ? —– didn’t he needed just run away for safety ?)
How he knew what to do ? —– Was he a fire brigade and familiar with car accident ? —– I don’t think so.
[]
Suddenly involved in a car pile-up, fire, explosion, still not overwhelmed by its horror and fear
of own life, able to grasp the situation is nothing but the [Selfless], [Detached Eyes and the Mind].
And this very detached eyes saw the urgent needs of the other people, hence, he acted “autopilot”.
This was certainly the manifestation of the [Mushin].
And as he is a human, he instinctively knew what he got to do, and he did it in his best
in fully minded concentration = [Mindfulness].
This is what Buddhist call manifestation of the [Dharma and its wisdom].
In fact, there was only one mind. = All those selflessness, detached mind, mushin, mindfulness are only the
different aspects of the same mind = actually there was No-Mind = only the Dharma was.
Compassion was not from his emotion, but the Dharma’s expression. Dharma autopilot him.
[]
I don’t think this man was a Buddhist. —– But this is the real virtue and its universality of the Dharma.
Everybody (Buddhist or not) is a part of the Dharma, everybody is having the nature like him.
Buddha saw this fact, and found the way and the practice to develop this nature to apply all
aspects of the life. (not only in a situation like an accident or disaster —– still, it works best in such
moment, that’s why Zen asks the mind-set to face the situation, “as if it is the moment of life or death” )
[]
( In reality, we are sensing far more information on the spot, far more than any AI program able to anticipate,
without having any signal compression or abstract categorization = RAW data from all the sensors in the body.
With those moment to moment, up to date information, we are assessing, judging what to do —– but all
done in the subconscious level = which we call the spontaneous response.
Because of this process is invisible, and the RAW data containes even genetically inherited ancient information,
Buddha attributed this supreme process to also invisible Dharma. )
[]
—– So, this post clarified how detachment and compassion are in the same mind in the same time.
And it must be clear, it couldn’t be understood while you are sitting. (When you are sitting, you can deal
with the matter of sitting —– this is what [Live in the Moment] mean.)
( Convinced ? 🙂 )

Panda Babies
Oh, Cm’on, you got to be joking. —– No no, they are REAL Panda Babies. Not soft toys 🙂
Born in China and hand reared by personal attendance, even when a baby they are the well behaving
Confucius Pandas ! 😀
They are the precious baby (hence not cub, and sleeping on the Futon mattress) of Panda, in
the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Base.
When I found this photo in a Japanese news site, I couldn’t stop to join this fun.
It’s definitely make anybody smile. And everybody ought to join the circle 🙂
Have a happy smily day.

Bowl of Water Zen
When I was talking about Zen practice with others, someone mentioned a BBC news which
showed a group of Chinese Zen monks are walking while carrying a bowl of water
as their Zen practice. —– “ Oh, what a good idea. It’s a good practice to learn Zen Mind “
—
( It’s easy to try this. Fill the water to the top of bowl about 8″ big and holding it to your chest high and walk.
By doing this, you can observe your state of the mind, how steady and calm your mind is.
Strangely you may find, the more you concentrate and gaze the water the more it shakes 😀
—– when your mind is almost detouched from the water or whole action, then the water become still and
make no drip while you are walking —- then you can fill even more water reaching to the edge. It’s a fun !)
non
In this blog, I’ve been talking that any action could be a Zen practice, hence in one post I talked about
[Lemon Zen] and the other post, [Walking Zen] in fact I also mentioned about the effects of even riding
a bicycle or typing —– any repeating action could have the same effect to reach
a state of the Mind of No-Mind or Mushin.
non
In fact everybody is doing the action of walking in Mushin = nobody is thinking when and how to move
the right leg after left leg has moved. —– It’s all done unconsciously.
So that, the practice of Mushin ( and the Mindfulness of cause — if a part of the brain is not fully engaged
for the walking, we can not automatically adjust the leg movement following the slight change of a condition
of the road surface) is not necessary an exotic funny action.
non
Then inevitable question arose —– if the walking is the practice of Mushin which everybody is doing,
why not everybody is an accomplished Zen Master.
Here is a funny but fundamental paradox of the Zen Buddhism. When the Mushin in walking is the
Zen, it is the Zen. —– but otherwise it is just an unconscious action of walking.
non
Buddha didn’t perform any fancy or peculiar action. It was just a simple ordinary daily life, yet
as it was repeated every day, each action was almost identical every time.
This simplified and fixed way of each practice is the requisite condition of [the Life in Mushin].
Buddha’s life style was the text-book and the disciples were learned and copied those action, and in the process,
disciples learned the Mushin ( or the state of the No-Mind was developed in them).
non
Because of the state of the mind can not be learned by the word, but only by the practice ( like any
emotion, unless a person has experienced it, the description of feeling couldn’t make any sense )
and this is the reason why non of the ancient scripture was actually talking about No-Mind, but only No-Self.
( No-Self = No-Mind —– still able to live as a person is because there is the enough program in our
Subconsciousness which is invisible —– like what I am talking here, is a new interpretation after Freud invented
a notion of Subconscious = which was not exists in the ancient time )
non
And there is yet another paradox in the Buddhism.
To live the Life in Mushin is what all about the Buddhism though, no-mind, no thinking, BUT unless it
was understood as the Buddhism, it wouldn’t become the Buddhism.
Anybody can carry a full of water in a bowl, and time to time the one may need to do it. Just carry a cup of tea
happen to be full to the edge, from kitchen to a table —– some may succeed it while making no single drip, yet
some may make a mess. What makes a difference ?
Calm mind, hence a steady hand is the crucial point here = a kind of thought “ Oh, I’ve put
too much. I’m silly. I would spill a mess on the floor. etc. “ would make a hand even more
wobbly and the tea would drip here and there 😀
non
A person can practice this and acquire better coordination on the hand, so that it will be programmed into
the motor legion of the brain and may become a routine movement. But, that all.
BUT, if a person practised this, under a file name of the Zen Buddhism, the file become
accessible in any moment when it need to have a calm mind in your life.
Carrying a full of water as Zen, it become the Zen with its effects.
Once a person acquired this file with the attachment of the notion of Zen and its spiritual implication,
the file would be applied to any action and any situation in the Life, hence, walking is the Zen, cutting a lemon
is the Zen, and even facing Tsunami Wave could be handled in a calm mind and able to act in the best way
or see the fate with calm clear eyes. (Sorry to the victims of Tsunami)
With this Paradox ( has to live without thoughts, preconception etc, still needs to organize its notion of
Mushin as the practice of Zen Buddhism) Buddha has asserted “ There is the way, which is to be
pursued as the way of Buddhism “ since in his earliest teachings as one of the Four Noble Truth.
non
This notion makes the difference between Mushin to just to be an ignorant thoughtless.
Though, the notion itself is nothing complicated = just to be aware [to carry a bowl of water is for Zen]
—– with this awareness, just Do It and keep doing it —– then suddenly you will find that you can do it without
spilling a single drip of water, and realized while doing it you didn’t need to think anything = Just Did It !
———-
Then observe yourself, while doing even other things, are you just doing it as well, without having any
useless thought ? (You may achieve this in few weeks or may be taking few years. Just carry on. —– then you
might be noticed, you have been having no upheaval in your life and strangely, quite unexpected
or too good to be true kind of coincidences has been happening, yet no one can tell why
—– Just carry on with your LIFE without questioning. ) —–This is a Zen Buddhist’s LIFE.

Glucose Level and the Will-Power
There are some internet information and the blog talking about the tendency of human behaviour,
in relation to the blood sugar level.
A blog talking about the influence of sugar (glucose) level to one’s will power quoting an article
in the New York Times which says depleted sugar level lead to the person indecisive. (postpone the decision)
This full 7 pages article is in deed the test of one’s will power to read through 😀
It’s talking about this research and other research and so on, and the observation connecting glucose
level to decision-making appeared in 5th page. ( Better jump to the page, if you are busy)
—
Somewhat interesting observation though, this research having a fatal flaw. Its observation is
based on a statistic of the decision-making of a Parole Board —– which application was passed in the daily
schedule in relation to the time of the day. (Possibility of a Parole given to criminals are much higher
soon after the lunch break, but later afternoon seemed to be very few) — this statistic came from official
document, but conclusion wasn’t based on the blood sample taken from the members of the Parole Board.
Hence speculating its tendency that it was contributed by the glucose level was nothing but a guess work
speculation. —– There could be hundreds more psychological factors.
—
The activity of the brain can be seen as a graphic image of PET (Positron Emission Tomography)
scanner. PET image shows how the energy consumption (Oxidation of the glucose) is taking place.
—– If depletion of the glucose is there = no emission = no bright image = shadow.
Even a person under observation, who was taking heavy brain taxing work, PET image never shows a shadow
= brain is keep working.
The sugar level in the blood is as crucial as the oxygen level, hence the blood circulation and the controlling
mechanism of the sugar level has been evolved in the past million years of evolution.
I don’t think the human kind who didn’t have a chocolate handy in their daily life suffered with
poor decision-making due to the glucose depletion. (Otherwise we have been extinct long ago)
—
And the another article I found was a kind of statistic made by a marriage adviser (?) Mary. J. Hungerford
of California (though, I couldn’t find the original article) which said that 3/4 of the divorced couple were
having sweet tooth and she speculates it must be caused by the higher level of the
Adrenalin which was associated with the higher level of glucose in the blood.
Higher level of Adrenalin makes the person aggressive hence argumentative —– which lead to the
break down of the relation and end up in divorce. (Really ! ? )
—
—– Very funny contradicting fact is [ What about Diabetic ] it was caused by higher level of
the glucose in the blood. Does it creates an aggressive man of will ? Quite opposite isn’t it ?
—
PS : After I’ve put this post, I Googled [Glucose level, Will-power] and realized this idea was not novel,
—– but rather popular idea. Then I gave a thought [what I was eating in the Eihei-ji temple ] —–
—– A bowl of rice porridge (of cause not with milk, just boiled in a lots of water) and pickled vegetable for
—– break fast. In the evening, a bowl of rice, a dish of such as boiled vegetables, tofu etc, and miso-soupe.
—– Strangely I have no memory of lunch —– may be it wasn’t there.
—– I think, to anybody’s eyes and a mouth, it was not a kind of food to energize the Man’s Will-Power 😀
—– Despite such poor food, the Monks even ordinary visitors stay there to spend the time of nothing !
—– There was no restriction to leave, if anyone wish. So that, to stay there may need to have a will-power.
—
—– Think about the heroic story of the sheer Will-Power, like Shackleton’s Polar Expedition etc.
—– Did he has a luxury of daily portion of chocolate to keep his will ? I don’t think so. 😀
—– I don’t think the will-power of what people talking about here and the explorer’s or mountain climber’s
—– will-power is the same kind.— Neither any Zen Master’s will.
—– Buddhist has completely different psyche —– there was no will at all, hence those
—– Masters got enlightenment ! ( Buddhist doesn’t intentionally pursuit the goal by will
—– but to set the goal as the default = if nothing else is there, what else can we wish for ? )
—– When (to his eyes) no chocolate is there, why want to eat chocolate —> once this kind
—–of mind became the norm, do something by the will doesn’t need a chocolate 😀
—– If he wants to do [A], Just Do [A] —– anyhow nothing else is in his scope.
—– To chose [A] out of 26 and do it needs to think and the will. But if nothing else there,
—– it is only a thing he can do. —– This is the ZEN.

Is MUSHIN same as Thoughtless ?
Well, it is not about a Justice / Punishment from the heaven but about the mind-set.
Non
These days our topics were often related to the Riot, and there was an interesting question.
“Wasn’t the mind-set of [senseless] [thoughtless] behaviour, same to the Zen
Buddhist’s [Mushin]. —– What makes the difference between them ? ? ? “
—– in fact, someone who put a comment to the previous post had the same thinking.
And this question has so many implication and the facets.
—– Once, Pablo Picasso said “ Keep drawing like a child is the hardest things in the Art”
—– Then, “what is the difference between [Innocence] or [Ignorance] to the [Mushin] ? “
May be the easiest answer to this question is, just whack the person shouting “Idiot” —– really ?
non
There was an interesting story among the legend of the Sword Masters.
In the Samurai era, top sword-man was roving around the country seeking the contest-match
against each other, in order to achieve the record / reputation. ( And the winner was invited to
give a lesson to the local Lord receiving good reward)
Then, someone got an idea of plank, dressed up an ignorant peasant as a respectable
samurai, claiming that this is the supreme sword-master, and challenging top local
sword-master.
On the match, the peasant was just standing facing real master just having his sword down.
As the peasant had a slightest idea of what the sword-mastery is, he was just standing still.
The challenged was the master who knows everything —– but as the opponent seemed to
standing utterly defenceless —– almost like an idiot (in fact he was an idiot) it made the master
utterly confused. —– no such things could happen here. Otherwise it must be a ploy to make
the master wrong-foot = this man must be a real sword-master and able to kill him instant.
—– it was what the master felt. (To his eyes, the peasant’s utter ignorant appearance, not even
recognize him was seen as the ultimate Mushin only possessed by a supream sword-master 😀 )
Then, the master throw his sword away, and kneel down for begging his life.
—————
The pair prankster succeeded all the contest-match in the same way.
But, after a while, the peasant started to wonder why those famous masters just give up and
kneel down to him. And interested in to use the sword, as he mistook that he is in deed a
strong sword-master and able to kill the opponent.
So that, on the next match, peasant break a stillness and showed a slight sign of intention.
Then, the challenged sword-master instantly reacted to this sign, sway the body to other
direction and cut the peasant into two pieces. (The End 😀 )
non
It is true, even a Zen Master has used a metaphor of the mind of small child
to describe the Mushin and a state of mind of Jizai.
And in the Buddhist’s arguments about the universality / inclusiveness of the Mahayana stance,
this matter —– What is the distinction between [Innocence, Ignorance, Senseless,
Thoughtless] to the [Mushin] is some time mixed-up.
As a matter of fact, when it is convenient, this kind of metaphor has been often used though,
[The Mushin] is a very specific, peculiar state of the mind, nothing similar to any of
those mind. Not just the matter of inclusiveness of the Mahayana, but also the confusion of the
[ What is the Buddhist’s mind] ( before this, What is the Buddhist ? —– there are all sorts of the
Buddhist exists —– Such as to enjoy the life having the eyes to appreciate peaceful nature which
gave a feeling of the liberated mind = could be perfectly the life and the mind of a Buddhist)
—– it has been left out of strict argument.
Non
But in strict term, the Mushin is the state of the mind, which only occurs when our
brain ceased to operate to categorising and reconfiguring the notion. —– yet
able to react to incoming stimulant.
—– In practice, this state of mind can be reached only through the long long repeated
practice which wear out those active, intentional activities of the brain
= thinking process.
And very similar to the treatment of an allergy, those practice also wear out the basic
desire and the emotional reaction = So that, the state of the Mind [ Mind of No-Mind]
= [Mushin] is only strict to [Purely the state of No-Thinking and No-Emotion]
= Dispassionate.
(but not akin to senseless or thoughtless —– because in those cases, senseless / thoughtless
mind is, in fact occupied by another sorts of mind = such as an anger, greed or
overwhelming fanaticism = ideology or madness)
non
=== this definition must have cleared the confusion.
=== the mind of childish, senseless, thoughtless Rioters were definitely, utterly
no way near to the Buddhist’s Mushin.
[ If it was done in Mushin, it got to bring the GOOD outcome. This is what the
Karma mean. And if it brought bad outcome — because, it has done not in Mushin]
—– You may say this is out of rational logic and say ” Why”, but this is what I found and true.
And this must be the reason why the Buddhism is existing. 🙂

Wet Mind and Dry Judgement
This year’s freak weather is not kind to the nature. Nor to the farmers who grow corn,
but in the same weather said have brought a bumper harvest to the strawberry growers.
The situation seems to be the same all over the world. Hence, it said to have brought big profit to the
commodity speculators who [rightly] speculated to have corn shortage and its price up.
Whether it is right or wrong, it is always the case, somebody’s misery is some other’s god opportunity.
This is the hard fact, as the weather is.
Then bring an argument to those situation is either emotional or in moral issue
—– both based on the Wet Mind.
Because of the dry weather, the plants on this patch of the land here couldn’t succeed.
In fact this year they failed twice. —– once the weeds grown to a feet high, then the dry spell on April
wiped them out. And after a short but pretty heavy wet weather, some plants shot up again —– then
they are all dead now. === is rather prosaic description of what happened here.
From this desiccated scene, may be I should create quite emotional, wet stories such as how I feel sad
while imagining a pleasure to see wild green, mentioning the glory of the sun and the joy which the nature
has been brought me over the years, and so on.
—– wet stories appeal to the readers, who is seeking sweet story
and a moment of consolation in the cyberspace.

Despite we are living in the environment of 90% Hard, Dry Facts, our mind seemed to have
90% of Wet Thinking / Wet Mind —– because we don’t see the Dry Fact in Dry —– We are seasoning it
with wet, slimy source, mostly to sweeten it. —– On top of it, before cooking and seasoning them, we are
conveniently selecting them to meet our taste. (Hence, sweet blog is more popular 🙂 )
Then, end of the day, we have to face Dry Fact and forced to give Dry Judgement — if the judgement
was not Dry enough, it will fail and Boomerang.
I know, Dry Food is hard to swallow, Dry Fact is hard to see though, anyhow it IS Dry —– to
see the world as it is, the first step to avoid to hit by a Boomerang = have a long-term peaceful life, in stead of
temporary comfort —– which need to have some practice. ( to begin with,
to know how sweet your taste, and the favourite source is 😀 )
