Flower of Bamboo 竹の花

I found a report of the bamboo flowering in the many corners of Japan from north to south.   The Bamboo said to open their flowers only once in every 100 years, 120 years.  And after the flower, all the plant dies leaving only their seeds behind.  It seems it is their tactics of the survival as the species when they noticed that they are going to die, so, they made flowers and the seeds.  As a plant, I don’t think they got any thinking let alone any delusion or fantasy, they only follow the Dharma = the rules of the nature.  If the nature is going to have the problem, it’s the problem to us too. —– I don’t know why this news caught my eyes among the mountain of the Youtube viz.   Still in my view, there is no such things like a coincidence = there must be the important to be noticed. —– If it would be a kind of natural disaster, there could be a certain area of Japan, not from all over Japan = if is it like the trouble of climate change ? —– in that case the news should come even from the Philippines or China as well.  There are many spooky stories such as, before the ship sank, all the rat run away (rat knows the fate of the ship, before-hand) or strange behaviour of the animal before the earthquake etc. —– Something very serious might happen soon.

God and Heaven

The most fundamental difference of the western God and the eastern Heaven is, the one imagined in a brain (modeled from such as the Gilgamesh Myth) or the one observed as the natural phenomenon.   So that there could be a complaint to someone who created the idea of western God, why the Evil was also created ?  And there, the matter is whether you believe its story or not.  Unless you believe it, it doesn’t exists.  

In contrast, as everybody in the east can see, the Heaven or the Nature is existing even before the human being or the universe was created.  Whether it was believed or not, it is a real existance to anybody.    Therefore, they knew the utterly evil earthquake, tsunami, volcano etc are a part of the nature.   (If the people has  ever encountered those utmost power of the nature, they become aware, they have to live with this without making useless complaint. )   So, that is how those evil were accepted as their part of the destiny.   The system or the existence of those phenomena all together IS the existence of which the Buddhists calles the Dharma, or the Taoist calles Heaven.   The strange phenomenon is, some profound Zennists are able to communicate with this Heaven or Dharma.   (save, other than a nuts)   😀

Be Natural (2)

There said to be a Japanese TV program by NHK (say Japanese BBC) asking the questions to AI.   One of the question was “How to make the people healthy”

The answer was “Close the Hospital”

TV production team searched all over Japan and found a city who closed down their hospital years ago because of their financial difficulty. (In fact, that city, Yubari in Hokkaido Japan has been bankrupted due to the dwindling revenue caused by the reduced local population.) —– Yubari used to have a population of 120,000 = bustling big coal mining city though, once the coal mine was closed, there was no other industry.   People, who can, moved out look for the job somewhere else.

So that, the people remained (about 8000 now) was the old ex-miners, fighting to survive in the harsh northern climate. —– Still, contrary to your expectation, the people is not having such miserable life.   Far from it, ex-miner is tough, taking their life literally in their hand.   As there is no carer service kind of help from the bankrupted local government, all those people is doing everything by themselves, even to clear the snow from the roof (otherwise the house would be crushed)   Even 90 years old man is actively on the front line of own life = there is no choice, got to be healthy. 

So, this was what the answer of AI meant.     When people need and have to do, they can, live, naturally with their full health.   (It’s mean, without having unneccessary intervention of so-called “Medication”(which is making money by making people ill) people can have much healthier life which cost nothing. —– this is the natural life.)

Useless thought — is it ?

While boiling the eggs, I suddenly heard a noise “Pang”.   I knew it must be a noise of the egg cracked, as time to time they do.   When I checked them, I found an egg popped open a part of its shell, like a submarine opened his hatch = a well made round hole. —– I’ve seen hundreds of the cracked egg when they were boiled “in my life” though, I never seen the Egg Submarine opened his hatch. = this is THE first event ever I encountered and witnessed in my whole life.    is it ? ? ?  —– So, what’s the matter ? 

———- Then I realized, this is the serious identity crisis case.  It would shake the foundation of the cause or justification of me to blog here. —– How and why this blog started ?  = This blog / Yoshizen started as a talking post to explain my theory, that is,  The Zen is not for talking or thinking but to DO.  This theory was conceived through my own experience of doing,experience of doing, and from many stories how the one could achieve his skill by just doing it many years kind, and the old say, such as even Rain drops carve the rock kind together with the very simple facts that the most of Buddhists sects are having their practice to repeat doing the same action.

—– So far, I think I succeeded to explain those matter by explaining them as the function of our brain / Amigdara. 

But, what about this instant case / Open hatched Egg ?     What this egg to do with Zen ? —– Quite few of the posts here are showing a kind of activity, demonstrating the simple, repetitive work for “Making something” also showing the sample of the way of utterly free thinking.  (why not approach, such as to use a spray can as a barrel of a macro lens or a discarded drink-can can be made a good sculpture etc. )

But is the Open Hatched Egg to do anything with the Zen ? = nothing.  Why not ? (Everything is the only an occasion in the life = have you ever seen any of two eggs cracked and showing exactly the same pattern ? —– Does the Zen Blog got to have a special big topics to talk ?  —– am I assigned to deal with such heavy role ?  —– who the hell yoshizen is ? = It must be a joke = can not be such ostentatious matter here.  it’s just a small free blog.  —– What an useless thought I got here.     😀

Be Natural

Even after completely immersed in the so-called civilization and the forefront of the medical technology, we still have the same body, which got million years old natural reaction to the situation.   When you were bitten by a mosquito or flea kind, you feel itchy and you scratch the skin = because your body needs the poison from insect to be dispersed, and decomposed.   When you caught cold, why you cough or sneeze, because your throat want something odd in there to be blown-out and in effect, the germ or virus may be removed.   So does the nose, started to snot to wash off there.  It is natural and that is what you are in ill.   You have to be patient  few days.  As that is what patience mean.    😀   ( But in case of appendicitis kind, go to doctor at once.)

Still people may want to stop those symptoms, so the pharmaceutical co. to cash in by selling the so-called medicine. —– but our body is naturally reacting to show those symptoms.  They are the indicator of the situation.  So that, to suppressing those symptoms, those medicine interfere our own resistance of the body.   And it’s tampering our immune system by destroying the bacterial balance in our guts (so-called guts flora).   Remember, we human being started to use those artificial medication only this modern era.   The more we use those medicine (chemical) the more we lose our natural balance (and get ill) = The more often you go to hospital, the more you pick up germ from other patient = and get ill.   Very funny.   😀

We’ve been made to believe that better to eat so-called healthy food etc, such as fresh vegetable or salad kind.      Yet strangely, our body can’t digest those raw vegetables.    Even worse, we eat those salad with salad oil.    The funny things were, those salad oil are much more unhealthier than a butter on a bread.     The food co. selling those salad oil saying they are healthy vegetable oil though, in reality, those so-called vegetable oil was extracted from such as rape seed, soy been etc (mostly cheapest palm oil)  using poisonous organic solvent, hexane and  to remove the hexane, the oil has to be processed under quite high temperature to evaporate hexane.    And while those oil was heated to high temperature, a byproduct, trance fatty acid was produced in the oil which is impossible to remove.   

Till decade ago, we were made to believe that the margarine made out of the vegetable oil is healthier than the animal butter though, suddenly the story was changed when people became aware of  those trans fatty acid in a margarine, people stopped to buy those margarine.    But in fact, salad oil contain more trans fatty acid than in a margarine.   Its mean, just eat the same old butter made out of animal milk is far more healthIer as we have been eating thousand of years.    And, eating those traditional food like our ancestor in those hundreds of years, is far  more natural to our human body.  

So, in general, it is better not to believe the sweet words of Company’s CM. = They just want to make money. —– And in my case, I’m not seeing any CM as I don’t have TV anyway, nor buying salad vegetables as I eat them cooked (mostly boiled) and buy no oil at all (except chinese chilly oil).   I’m not minding “healthy” kind of notion but simply spending minimum amount of money = so-called mean.  Hence I don’t get ill ( = No need of medicine = no chemical) nor creating a havoc by braking the body’s natural balance.

(There is the most interesting story or fact in the one of Japanese prefecture, Nagano = their people is showing the highest longevity in Japan, yet having least number of doctors par population, and only costing 2/3 of medical care — still consume twice amount of salt in comparison, since they don’t have a sea = all the fish they can get was salted.)   😀    This fact signifies that the dogma doesn’t work = Dogma might be invented 30 years ago, but our body and its physiology is working million years long successfully.

(That is the beauty to live with the natural law of which the Buddhists call Dharma = as Dharma having its own equilibrium or so-called harmony within, there is no contradiction or break-down of the system.  So that, I only need to follow my nature without doing anything artificial.)  (And as I don’t drink, smoke or eat chocolate or meet with fancy ladies,  I use the leftover money to buy a fancy camera —– my not looks very natural though it wouldn’t harm anybody nor myself but making quite a fun.  This life style is natural to me. = I’m not living in any “ism” or ideology such as “eco” “veganism” kind = those ideas are all made-up in the imagination, even a delusion. )    😀

In law trouble

While browsing the Net, I encountered a kind of board where people put their story or accusation, complaint etc in their life.  People may also dumping their frustration or showing off their successful plot or revenge etc as well.     M m m —–  Then suddenly, I realized that there is one of the life’s heaviest paradox of which I’ve been able to avoid as a single monk. 

While growing up, whether as good boy, bad boy or good girl, bad girl regardless, whether they got any qualification and gained any good social skill OR NOT, almost of all in equal term, they get marry or became a in-law of the husband or wife.   Then naturally, the drama starts between those newly joined members and old families.    Elder brother’s wife may take advantage to be a senior position and bully even steal a things with an excuse of I just borrowed it as in the same family and just forgot to return etc. etc.    The more audacious win.   Even if it was an obvious crime, Police is not very keen to intervene the family matter = giving an impression of free to go.  (If Police try to prosecute, suddenly the witness change etc, because of the pressure from the close ties etc. etc. —— Police knows those entangled emotional situation too well etc. etc. )

You may choose your spouse but you can’t avoid your in-law.    Unlike to get a job, you don’t need any qualification or intelligence to become in-law as there is no test or interview.   Even worse, so-called commonsense may not to be shared by others neither no enforcement.   They can say, that’s who I am, its my right to be me.    So, hell opened. —– And the very hell is where they thrive.   They grab what ever they want and getaway in a midst of chaos.  

For introduction, or a match making party, at least a kind of selection of school or society, still in reality, most of the people find their spouse mostly by chance without knowing any detail of the person let alone its relatives.   And suddenly those people may come to your room with spare key.   Asserting that they have a right to demand and do so as a relatives (even if they are only in-law).

Their logic is, as the declaration of human right says, everybody got the equal right to claim their share of happiness.   Especially among the same family, the happiness and the wealth has to be shared equal.  Therefore your expensive jewelry also belong to me etc.   So, I don’t need to ask you because, it IS mine.   Don’t you understand ?

Everybody got an equal right to get marry to almost anybody yet still, all the trouble might be caused by “who the person IS” which has been almost out of scope when he or she start their relation (they were hot in love and believing nothing else is a matter, don’t interfere us). —– So does, anybody has a freedom to choose own life-style as it is their own business and their right — Then suddenly the floodgate opened as a in-law.   It seems it is a most convenient excuse to an uneducated EX-hooligan to start bullying, make the younger in-law to easiest target.   —– If you see the hi-school  boys, girls, in the town you may understand how such in-law was going to be mass-produced.   —– it’s a trouble isn’t it ?    To have the individual right and the freedom and the peaceful social harmony in the same time seemed to be impossible.   But, that’s what the world is.

Karma – Fate – (3)

This is yet another 8150 story.   On my life, the sign 8150 is regularly appear here and there = nothing special or I would say, they are a kind of road sign, OK to go.  Yet still, it may seen quite odd or even a supernatural phenomenon to others eyes.

In the world, there is a kind of people who proclaims that they ARE the chosen people though, it seems if it was a case they seemed to have far more share of the bad fortune all through the history.  =  It doesn’t seem that the God is anywhere near to their side.   From the eastern view, the idea of a personified God speaks same language and negotiable, sounds too odd, in comparison to the absolute eastern Heaven.   They are more like a children’s bed time story.   Yet still, you are free to believe any story.

Lord Buddha, as the enlightened teacher, he didn’t believe a God kind or after life as they are too irrational, and banned the magic kind of deceptive practice to his followers.  (Its mean, Tantra’s “Magic words”= Dharani is not the Buddhism, neither all sorts of Mahayana fantasies are nothing to do with the original teachings.  (They are the stories borrowed from the Veda = Brahmanism / Hinduism.)

Yet still, the belief of the Dharma and the Karma is in the teachings.   So, where those two seemingly conflicting idea reconcile ? —– In fact, they are the real phenomena and its rules.  They themselves exists like a phenomenon of lightning or thunder, they exists without the imaginary god of lightning or thunder. = Such Gods are nothing more than a children’s story.

So, does it mean, the Dharma and Karma are just the visible phenomena ?  or actual occurrences ? —– the rules  rules behind = invisible.   Those ruler IS the western equivalent of the God, but the Rules or Heaven is almost the abstract, —– we only see its sign.   And in my case, the sign was the number 8150 (and its variation).   When I see it’s there, I feel a kind of approval of me doing it.   Still, to find the address of the seller in China was also 8150 (in fact 518000) frightened me.  (By the way, the mysterious lens I talked about also having that number —– its mean, I was right to speak out)  😀 —– So, what’s all those mean ?  Even though, the Karma is abstract, it IS watching us and ruling our life.  It is not an imaginary existence.  It’s real.   (at least on my life = I was born to have this life while possessing the palm line which is saying the same = So, its benefit is, I don’t get ill or get accident. Except getting old.   😀 — getting old is a nature of the Karma ) —– I wouldn’t boast such as that I was chosen but I’m actuary seeing the Karma / Dharma is with me. —– though, as an honest feeling, it is a bit bothersome = leave me alone.  I want to have a bit more naughty life away from their watchful eyes.     😀  )

Most beautiful Face 2018

The magazine, TC Candler announced the 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2018 which selected Thylane Blondeau as the top beauty.

And this is yet again Ai Shinozaki = she was listed in there 84th, the bottom of  4 other Japanese. 

(Something distinctive of the Japanese standard of “Beauty” or “Pretty” often reject the big-mouthed face like the western “Gorgeous” face. —– simply Japanese hate talkative = noisy person to be in their close proximity. = We wouldn’t deny their existence though, don’t come close to me = leave me alone, don’t disturb my peace.  In reality, there are lots of talkative active women presenter in the TV = no problem we can just switch off the TV) 

What peculiar the choice of Ai Shinozaki is —– she is not a typical Japanese beauty, far from it, she is rather indistinguishable = you may miss her in the cloud.   But that is the strongest point why she was chosen to be the top of most untold lover of Japanese men.   Thousands, millions of men are the Otaku, loving their 2D character (= the character in the printed comics) hate 3D real existence of women = hence stay alone, never get involved into the relation. 

For most of the western man’s concept, such mind-set couldn’t be understood = without the physical meanings, it would be no use to think about the relation.  But it seems, the love can be a purely an imaginal existence in some cases. 

Many years ago, when I went back Japan to see my mother, she told me that the mother of woman-A came to tell that A will going to get marry.     ? ? ? — A was one of my secondary school classmate.    Why her marriage was anything to do with me ?   To be other than a classmate, nothing else has been happened between us.   We’ve never been a close friend let alone any relationship.    Yet still, in her mind, one-day when I come back from England, then court her hand.  —– can anybody hold this belief for 25 years in a totally isolated mind = no attempt to make any communication, never came to see my mother asking my address and attempt to write a letter.  But just waited as an innocent maiden.  I’m not telling you a horror story, neither bragging or boast funny story.   It was just a simple fact happened many years ago.   So, I’m wondering that in her 70s, how woman-A is thinking her life?  And myself, if it was happened what kind of the life we could have together. But, the Karma kept me woman free and made me live as such.  This is what Karma mean, it is beyond of anybody’s choice.  We can not bend it. 

Like all other instinctive reactions, the love was created in the old cortex of the brain, Amygdala.   When certain visual signal (or other significant signal) hit the Amygdala   ! ! !   Oh, I love it (or him or her) = Love at the first sight.   And it was the instant seclusion of the Love hormone, serotonin, dopamine etc —– with those chemical effects filling all corner of the body = the body was immersed with love.  Finger was filled with tingling sensation, other parts was filled with hot blood etc etc.  Such reaction has the same pattern like when we saw a deadly snake, then our body would be filled with adrenaline and get hi-tension. —–

Funny things about the visual pattern which hit hard the Amygdala.  It seems that the pattern was pre-loaded, but it is hard to trace the origin.   (could be even DNA originated subconscious.) —–  Try to find such pattern,  I collected 50,000 photos of faces and sorting them —– I found the pattern which attract me though, I couldn’t find any relation among them, let alone its origin.   Even funnier was, such pattern creates the soft spot in the mind = it seems this soft spot is the all source of the trouble.   Such soft spot blinded our eyes and override the rational thinking.   (Simply, we often turn the blind eyes to the cause of trouble = then it will come back hard)   Life is hard = So, why not to have a dream on 2D beauty —– they wouldn’t betray you.   😀

Been watched ? ? ?

(This is the back screen of my D850 camera)

When I lived in the north London, on one of the hilltop.  From its window, I could see the horizon (in fact it was the hills of North downs / Rochester and Dover direction) and a New Year’s sunrise.   But now, here from a corner of south London I could only see the sunrise over the roofs.   Warse still, this year, I could only see the sun behind the cloud.  —– So, the first picture of the year was the cloudy sky.  Then I noticed that its number of the photo in the camera was 777/777.  Other than that fatal number of 8150, I’m not fussy the number like 666 or lucky 7 still, to see so many sevens, its reminds me the zincs of the Gurdian God is watching.   It might be a message of an encouragement for the New Year / This Year = since I still need to push the  2 complaints against the Council.    This sign looks very good !

110 Pentax Lens on A7R

OMG, —– I found a EOS 620 body and a tiny Pentax 110 (both of them were broken junk state) for hefty £5 in the odds & ends box of the City Camera Exchange, Strand Shop.  (They got the best junk in London as well as the latest expensive cameras, and if you feel hungly, you can have the best lunch or dinner in the Simpsons, only few steps round a corner.)   😀

EOS body may be used as a display dummy for my (Canon mount) homemade lens, and the tiny 110 Pentax lens, should make a good fun to test it. 

To test this Pentax lens on Sony A7R body was very easy = just mount the tiny lens on an A7R body cap — Infinity focus was happened to be almost straight.  (but there is no Iris as the camera was designed to give an Auto-exposure by Aperture and the Shutter speed combined system.  = So, the lens works as a 24mm F2.8 only lens, and the focus works very well. (If your finger is small enough to pinch its small lens front)   😀

As the lens is rather bright F2.8 = focused depth is quite shallow yet still, the image where focused was very sharp and crisp.   Though, since the lens was designed for 110 Instamatic size, image circle doesn’t cover the 35mm full screen of course.   (and I wouldn’t attempt to make it Retro-focus with a concave lens to spread the image.)

Don’t to be fooled, even if the camera, lens were such small, like a children’s toy,  Pentax seemed to designed its lens with their full force. = image was such crisp = I would say, too prosaic !  The lens showed no chromatic aberration, in fact it got no aberration at all.  (May be in reverse use, lens may work as a pretty good macro lens. —– I’ll test it on future.)

Still, such small lens on the small mirrorless camera is very comfortable and CUTE ! = I wouldn’t complain the dark surroundings.  Its a own character and a part of fun.

for comparison, this was a shot by the 110 AUTO 18mm —– think, this is 18mm and fully open f2.8 = the quality is very high !

Well, we can have a lot more fun from those old lenses.
