Carnival in Greenwich (2)
Well, I went to Greenwich twice. The first day was rather wet and poor light.
The photos I put in the previous post were , in fact taken next day
when it was bright weather.
It seems he does know the expression on the fingers —- at least. 🙂
Then gathered audiences were put on the long march to the venue.
It looked like an impressive cattle run which scared the local kids.
When the party reached to the destination, they could sip a drink or two,
while entertained by some comical acts.
And a theatrical performance of the intrigue in Venice.
Then, to the next scene, the audiences were again taken to yet another location.
Venetian story has to be told on the canal. 😀
—– then moved to yet another location (though, I don’t know any further)
(It was getting too dark for photo.)
Ciao !

Carnival ? in Greenwich — 500mm Lens Portrait
For a Theatrical Art Event in Deptford, the audience was asked to come to the
gathering point at Cutty-Sark ship Greenwich, while wearing a mask.
So, at 6:30 evening, Thames side of Greenwich suddenly see the
Venetian Carnival like atmosphere.
Performer, their staffs audiences all alike under the mask.
Those photos were taken by Tamron SP 500mm F8 Lens on Canon 5D Mk-II.

Why “Don’t Think” ? ? ?
When you are walking, you never thought about how to move your foot.
Same as to read this blog. You are using your brain and thinking “What a hell
this guy is talking about” still, it is about the meaning of “What was written”
but not about the action, [Reading] itself. = Your eyes automatically scan the
line and pick the pattern of Alphabet —– and in most of the case, you don’t need
to even think what I wrote here = as no sophisticated literacy or academic
knowledges were needed to read this.
So that, to read this, you don’t need to “Consciously” think anything.
Almost automatically your eyes gliding over the line. (While unconsciously
feeling “nothing special = ignore this” 🙂 )
[]
Yet still, when the matter came to the famous theory of [Nut Macadam]
suddenly your brain awake and try to sort out “What this Nut Macadam is”
because you don’t know what this is, and you don’t want branded to be an
Ignorant = since this could be important and missing this might be
disadvantageous. = (Your Greed and Ego was alerted !)
So that, suddenly your thinking started to be in full swing. (Though,
no such Nut Macadam has a value more than a Peanut, this
thinking process would find nothing.)
[]
Like this experiment, you may become aware a fact that the thinking is
associated with the own ego and greed. In other words, your own “Self”.
“The Self” is so eager to defend the own interest and try to gain something
though, see the situation. On the end what you gain ? = And in any way
you will loose all you have gained and die soon or later.
(So, Don’t think is in fact same as “To be Selfless”)
Or is it a game to make a life more fun ?
(Make a life more fun = this is in fact the way of the Mahayana, instead to
live sombre life with so-called “Contemplation”. 🙂 )

Leiz 35mm Lens — filter size
A camera shop who noticed me got
a soft spot in the particular number,
sold me a lens, Leiz Elmarit-R 35mm
F2.8 which has been converted to
the Nikon mount. By doing so, the
lens lost all the communications to
the camera body = it became totally
manual, hence very difficult to sell.
So, the boss resorted with a pretext as the
lens got the particular number, I ought to buy. 😀
I don’t mind to have a Leiz lens, anyway in a collection, I have Leica R and Leica C,
and to have one more lens wouldn’t create any trouble. And my Canon 5D is an
extremely capable camera which can be used with any lens. THOUGH, Leica is a
notoriously awkward camera company. = All the system was designed to be unique,
therefore the everything has to be genuine Leica made. So, even just like a filter = this
lens got a screw size in odd 48mm. ( Standard filter size is 46mm, 49mm, 52mm, etc.)
In order to use a filter on this lens, a user has to buy a lens-hood which can hold a filter,
and only special series filter can go into its gap. —– you might have guessed,
they comes with an extortionately high price !
A poor man like me can not afford to buy. So, the solution is ……… if no matching
filter is in the market, why not to make one myself.
Outer diameter of the lens top is the same as 49mm filter though the internal
screw is for 48mm —– So, I scraped-off the male screw of 49mm filter, down
to 47mm. Then this filter ring was glued onto the lens top.
So that, the filter size of this lens was converted to the universal 49mm.
(which even allow the use of humble Tamron lens cap. 🙂 )
(Further screw-on another filter doesn’t cause a corner cut-off. )

Quasi-Portrait — another Population
Dummy or Figure what ever called,
they are there —– are they ?
Same as a children’s toy or even a pet animal,
how do you take count or to recognize them ?
Do they exists like a person or are they
just a piece of material ?
As some one suggested, aren’t they active in
the middle of night without us knowing ?
M m m m m ?
Why they are there in that shape ?
Who asked them there or created as they are ?
So, —– are they just a product of our delusion ? —– or even our desire ? ? ?
But are they or aren’t they ?
Or the commercialism expecting them to get our attention ?
Or we are having a delusion over them to act for our desire ?
Or we are having a misunderstanding “Once I had a time with him (or her)” ?
Is that a dream we want ? = a proof of “I was” —– a memory taken to where ?
To the heaven ? —– Do you believe is there such things exists ?
How bizarre isn’t it ! Is this a nature of us, human mind ? ? ?

—– This lens creates phenomenally crisp image ! )

Impressionist’s Flower Photo (without Pink)
Those photos were taken on the same day of the Shooting Party.
Being as an impressionist (for one-day 🙂 ) = no botanical
observation or comment.
Till here all the photos above were taken using a Fun Camera’s Lens.
And those last three photos were taken by the Wide-angle
Double-density Pinhole on Canon 5D Mk-III.
[]
Pink — Impressionist’s Pink !
In early spring when the sun is not strong, the flower has to rely on its
hi-visibility color = yellow to appeal to the insects.
But when the spring deepen with increasing sun light, flowers who got other
tactics such as sweet scent doesn’t need to rely on its visibility, hence free to
pleasure with another color. —– Then the Pink become in fashion. 😀
Though, I’m not knowledgeable enough whether those Pink has any effect to the
human psychology. Why a young lady saw something naughty blushs pink (red ?)
or a glass or two drinks makes the cheek pink ?
My friends has been rather wondering, or even suspicious about my eyes or
mental condition if those fuzzy images were the symptom of poor eyesight or
a kind of drowsiness for some kind of intoxication. 😀
Surely, drunken wouldn’t say “I’m drunk” and I think I can focus if I need.
Those photos above were taken by the lens from Kodak Fun Camera on 5D.
But this photo above were taken by the Wide-angle double-density Pinhole.
And this one is a normal photo as a reference
—– whether you feel boring or sigh of relief (at home). 😀
[]
Lens from One-time use Camera
This photo was taken by yet another “Cost nothing Optics”. 🙂
In fact, it came from a Kodak One-time use Fun Camera.
Lens was a single plastic piece though, I guess, it must be pretty well designed
aspherical Optics. And on its Camera, Lens to film was 27mm, so I should say,
it’s focal length is 27mm. = It’s mean, to use this lens on most of the DSLR
body would creates only close-up photo.
Because the lens will be mounted
more than 10mm away from the
normal position. —– Still, when I
mounted this onto my Canon 5D body,
result wasn’t too bad. (Though, sharp
focus is only 10cm from the front.)
Yet still, I’m doing lots of “close-up” shot
and “Soft focus”—– this lens on 5D can
give me a fun of both ! 😀
—– I haven’t tested whether any odd lens
can be used on the other type of cameras, such as “Four-third” or Micro Four-third”
kind yet. Though, if it works, those mirror-less camera body are thinner than DSLR
= the lens like this would work better from infinity.
This photo is a reference = shot by ordinary lens (24~70mm Canon Zoom)
and this was a shot by the Lens from Kodak Fun-camera.
And this was a comparison = shot by the Wide-angle Double-density Pinhole !
—- Though, you might say why bother. Ha ha ha. 😀

Shooting Party
Yesterday, I’ve joined a Shooting Party who had taken the photographic course
together many many years ago !
As they are living in the Greenwich area, party went to familiar
Greenwich Park.
I went there with my Fish-eye lens, 24~70mm Zoom and
I field-tested yet another funny lens from a Disposable-camera !
Fish-eye lens worked well as always. 🙂
And those pictures were taken by another fancy lens
= Wide-angle Double-density Pinhole !
The lens (?) worked perfect for ” the Impressionist’s Photography”. 🙂
(May be I need to have costumed actor and actress ! ) 😀
Easiest way to make impressive picture is —– take picture of grand subject. 😀
[]
Lens from Toy-camera
——- (Photo above : Left = the edge of the lens has been cut to put a LED illumination.)
On the market, there are many adapter lenses for a Smart-phone or Tablet camera
to take wide-angle or tele-photo picture. And many people might have
experimented to put magnifier glass or even the interchangeable lens of a SLR on
front of a Smart-phone camera. = Yes, the lens placed on front, affect the image.
——– (Photo above Left = With additional lens, small letters on a receipt
——– was magnified = looks very sharp.)
Though, in most of the case, any lens put on front, functioning like a close-up lens.
And only the concave lens (such as short-eye-sighted specks lens kind) could make
the image smaller = wide-angle effect but may not give you any sharp image.
Yet still, they works well like as a close-up lens, even like a microscope.
The photos here shows the effect of a small lens put on the Tablet (Nexus 7).
The very lens came from a kind of toy-camera.
(Lens and the Image censer looks same to the £30 Security camera. 😀 )
Still, this lens can project the outside image to the 4x3mm size censor.
It’s mean, use this lens in reverse, the lens can pick up the image of 4x3mm
and projects it to the land-scape size.
So, I mounted this lens on the top of 18cm spray can, same way as I did before.
——– (Photo here = Bird’s feather x40 magnification)
Apparently, the lens got 6mm or so focal length and 180mm extension (together
with camera’s 44mm flange-back) it can give whopping x40 magnification.
——– (Photo here = Butterfly’s wing again —– x40 magnification)
(Though, I wouldn’t say, with such magnification, taking photo is easy at all.
= image in the view finder is very dark and the depth of field is extremely shallow
= with slight movement, the image vanishes.) 😀
—– Coincidently, I found a collection of Butterfly wing’s photos. It must be the
result of months, if not years of work (together with a lots of digital manipulation)
= still pretty impressive.
